|Chapter 2: And His Name is|

A few days later there was the incident with Kamoshida and some people known as the "Phantom Thieves" who had changed Kamoshida's ways of looking at students. That was strange, it almost felt like Kamoshida had saw the error in his doings and changed his ways. Well at least that creep changed his ways now.

Shujin was now famous because of the whole Kamoshida case going out of hand and spread all over the news and media like some sort of gossip a girl would tell another girl who wouldn't keep her mouth shut.

You noticed that once you entered in class the new or so transfer student known as Akira was talking to Ann.

Strange, don't remember that happening. It's weird how all of a sudden he found his way here yet.... I was never really accepted here much. So much for being a victim of bullying...

Class ended and so started an assembly towards the gym. Upon entering the gym you saw the principal standing there. He never really cares about the students and neither do the adults here at this school anyways.

"Students of Shujin, I'd like to introduce a new teacher here. Starting now you'll have a new teacher and school psychologist." Principal Kobayakawa said.

You saw that the teacher that Principal Kobayakawa introduces was familiar. Almost as if you seen him before but from where...?

"Hello...!" The man struggled with the microphone since it wasn't really working.

"Is this thing working?" The man checked out the microphone but quickly got wacked on the head by it.

You couldn't help but laugh a little but covered your mouth.

"Since the microphone isn't working... Hello! Nice to meet you all! My name is Takuto Maruki! I'm going to be the school's psychologist for now on. Feel free to step in my office when you're feeling in a bad mood." Maruki smiled.

Wait a second.... Is that the man from yesterday? The one who asked how was I feeling? Out of all places I had to run into him here.... Great.

He waved with that friendly smile on his face.

Once that assembly was over everyone continued with their normal care free lives. You walked through the outside of Shujin just to get a drink in the vending machines. You opened your bottle of (insert your drink)

"Hello...! We meet again!" You heard that familiar voice.

You spit out your drink as your eyes widened.

So he did recognize me.... Damn it what do I do now...?

You turned around and nodded.

"I figured you were a student but to think I'd run into you here in Shujin. Must be the hands of fate telling me to help you." Maruki smiled.

"The hands of fate are telling me to avoid you." You said.

I don't have time for this...

"Oh, I see.... Well um I was just going to ask if you were interested in therapy. If you want anyone to talk to I'm here. You can just stop by the nurses office." Maruki smiled.

"I'm good." You were going to walk past him when...

You felt his hand on your shoulder.

"Please...! I have free snacks! Yes! If you come those free snacks will be yours!" Maruki begged of you.

"Why is that you are persistent in me going?" You asked.

".....I've always wanted to help people ever since I became a therapist. My goal in life is to make everyone happy so that no one would have to suffer. One day I'd like to see a smile on people's faces knowing that I had helped them." Maruki looked upset.

You felt a guilty feeling in your heart for some reason just hearing him say that.

"....I'll think about it." You said.

"Really...?! I mean uhm, ehem.... I really do hope you take it into consideration." Maruki smiled.

You returned to class and passed and noticed this time Akira, Ryuji, and Ann were hanging out together.

Seeing Ann being treated like the outcast and now having friends makes me a little jealous but yet makes me feel bad... If I had friends here would I be happier...?

Once class ended you headed outside where you noticed that group of girls from yesterday. One of them tried to trip you but you were quick to catch your balance.

"Don't you girls have anything better to do?" You frowned.

"Yeah, bullying you." They laughed.

"Awww look Sadako is mad, what is she going to do now?" One of the girls said.

"How about you leave her alone? Do something else for a living." You heard a familiar voice.

It was none other than Ann.

Why is she defending me...?

The girls went away as Ann protected you from the girls.

"Hey are you okay? Those girls weren't being too harsh on you were they?" Ann asked.

"No, not really..." You looked down.

"Hey, you're Y/N right? We're in the same class, how come you're always quiet." Ann smiled.

For once someone is actually treating me nicely.

You didn't say anything.

"It's okay don't force yourself to respond, um I'll see you later!" Ann ran off towards Ryuji and Akira.

You decided maybe you would pass by Maruki's and talk to him. You headed by the practice building and peeked a little to see Maruki doing some paper work.

"Now I just have to wait." Maruki said.

Was he...? Was he waiting for you to come? He has paper work on the table and doesn't seem to be busy at the moment. You knocked on the door.

"Oh! Come in!" Maruki's voice sounded happy.

You entered in his office in which he gave you the warmest smile ever.

"I thought you had left, I would've been waiting here feeling upset this whole time." Maruki nodded.

You looked at him with a face.

"Take a seat! I'll prepare some drinks if you want! Make yourself feel comfortable here!" Maruki stood up and prepared some tea. He sat down and put some apple juice on the table and the tea he made for you.

You grabbed the cup and drank some of the tea. It tasted really good for some tea.

"Do you often make tea..?" You asked.

"Well um, good question! I used to make tea a lot. I'm experienced at it just as I am at cooking!" Maruki nodded.

You were suddenly intrigued into what he was saying.

"I'd like to hear more." You nodded.

"More? When we first met you didn't want to talk to me and now you seem interested? It's like a whole new different change in you." Maruki smiled.

You pouted.

Maruki began to explain to you how he's able to cook a lot of stuff since back then used to cook for himself when he couldn't afford to buy food outside.

"That's interesting..." You felt like you could somewhat relate with him.

"Ah! Pardon me but I shouldn't be taking your time. You should go home before it gets late." Maruki walked towards a cabinet and handed you some snacks.

One being a bag of chocolate chip cookies and the other being animal crackers.

Pfft, this is hilarious....

You put them in your bag and walked off.

Once you returned home you relaxed and ate the snacks Maruki have you.
