Chapter 53: Guide me

.....Can you hear me?

"I-I can... Who are you...??"  You asked.

...I cannot answer that, but it seems you are in a complicated situation. Have you tried looking around?? Go places??

"Go where?? I'm stuck in this place. I can't possibly go places." You said.

Allow me to guide you, come with me.

You got up from your bed and opened the door. You could somehow see a piece of a map on the ground. You picked it up and looked at the map.

"Is this the map to the entire palace...? " You wondered.

You looked at the map looking at the places.

"There's a garden here...? I'd like to see it..." You nodded.

"(y/n)!! I was just about to check up on you!" A familiar voice said.

Maruki came running towards you, you hid the map behind your back with a smile on your face.

"Are you alright (y/n)??" Maruki placed his hand on to your cheek.

"I'm fine, what's wrong?" You tilted your head.

"I was worried for a second that you'd run into the intruder or possibly become sick. I was going to invite you somewhere but you were asleep by then." Maruki sighed.

"Where do you want to take me? I'd be happy going so." You smiled, folding the map from behind your back into a small piece and stuffing it inside your back pocket.

Maruki grabbed your hand and held on to it.

"I'll guide you." Maruki nodded.

You felt comfortable and safe walking around with Maruki like this. No one to tell you anything and nothing to stop you, it felt like this world was the world you could truly be happy with your beloved here. But this world doesn't have everything you could've wanted like your friends or even family to be with.

Maruki opened the door to a room to reveal a grand ballroom, there was a big space to dance in and a grand piano. It looked like one of those movies where a grand ball would usually happen.

"This looks...."

"Amazing? I know." Maruki let out a small chuckle.

You explored the room, the curtains, windows that lead to nowhere, and the scenery of this room. You came across the grand piano placed there. It looked beautifully designed.

You placed your hand gently on to the keyboard and pressed on to them. The tune of the piano made a sound.

"I'm not good at playing the piano... Although I've always wanted to learn how to..." You muttered.

"Really? Would you like to hear me play it?" Maruki asked.

"You can play the piano...?!" You looked at Maruki with shock.

"Of course I can, there are many things I can do." Maruki nodded.

He sat down on a chair and placed his hands on the keyboard, he began to play the piano. Every tune he played was so relaxing that you had completely forgotten about your stress and plans to get out of this place. You felt at ease as the music felt so heavenly to you. Once he stopped playing piano he stared over at you.

"So how'd you like my performance?" Maruki asked.

"That was amazing...! The way you carried yourself with it was beautiful!" You cheered for Maruki.

"Aww thanks... You're making me blush..." Maruki's face turned pink.

"Say (y/n) how about I teach you some piano lessons. Could be fun." Maruki smiled.

You agreed and sat down besides him. You placed your fingers on the key.

"Okay, now follow my lead." Maruki smiled.

The two of you began to play the piano together, you felt joy in doing so. You felt great just playing the piano with Maruki. As soon as the two of you were done you continued to laugh.

"That was fun...!" You smiled.

"I agree, I loved teaching you." Maruki nodded.

You saw Maruki close his eyes and lean in towards you, does he want a kiss??

Crap...! What do I do...?! What does he want...??! Should I lean in and kiss him???

You stared at Maruki and decided to place your hand on his lips. He was quick to open his eyes and look at you in surprise.

"How funny (y/n)." Maruki raised his eyebrow on you.

You laughed nervously, playing along with him.

Maruki stood up and then took your hand, he pulled you up to the big space around the room and positioned the both of you as if the two of you were about to dance.

"Taku-"

Maruki was quick to silence you, he placed his finger on your lips.

"Just follow my lead, everything will be alright." Maruki smiled.

You nodded as the two of you proceeded to take step by step dancing around the room. You can see that your feet weren't moving along very well to the dancing since you had never danced with a partner like this before. Every step you took you could almost feel yourself stumbling or somehow about to fall.

Maruki held on to you tightly so you wouldn't fall, but in the end you tripped on him and tumbled besides him.

"I-I'm sorry....!!" You apologized right away.

Instead of hearing a scolding you could hear Maruki laughing, it was the hardest he's ever laughed before. He seemed very happy and didn't really care if you messed things up. He placed his hand on your head and said

"It's okay, this was pretty fun. We should do this again sometime (y/n)."

"I'm not sure I can, I'm not very good at this..." You sighed.

Maruki placed his hands on your face.

"You never know if you don't try." Maruki word's encouraged you.

You felt a lot better about yourself, wanting to try again for Maruki's sake. You picked yourself back up and offered a hand to Maruki.

"Let's try this again! From the start!" You cheerfully said.

You saw a blank expression on Maruki's face, his eyes looked colorless and sad. Is something happening to him??

"....Takuto?" You leaned towards him.

"I-It's nothing...!" Maruki helped himself get up.

Maruki then left the room in silence, not telling you a word.

What happened to him....?
