"Lani, you guys didn't have to do this," Vera said.
Lani gave her a hug, "They wanted to do more but I had to stop them. You know they've always wanted another kid and always thought of you as theirs if anything were to happen to your parents," Lani said with a warm smile. Vera returned her smile with a grin.
"I'm gonna be back," Lani says and then walks out of the bedroom, closing the door behind her.
Vera decided to explore the bathroom and closet.
