Rosy walked into the choir room, her messenger bag hanging across her shoulders, and she surveyed the room. The three new cheerleaders, Quinn Fabray, Santana Lopez, and Brittany Pierce, were sitting on one side of the room, Mercedes, Tina, Kurt, and Artie were huddled on the other side of the room, chatting quietly, while Finn was plinking away at the piano.
Neither of the groups seemed particularly inviting, and although Finn was always kind to her, he seemed kind of absorbed in what he was doing. She sighed, adjusted her grip on her bag, before walking towards the back of the choir room. She prayed that they would get new members soon because sitting alone in the back of the room was getting depressing. Rosy was so used to being alone and untouched, that when she felt an arm on her wrist, she let out a yelp.
"Chill, Shrimpy. I'm not gonna bite you." Rosy looked down to see Santana Lopez staring at her, an unamused look on her face.
"Funnily enough, I don't think that's true." Rosy said and Santana stared at her, an almost impressed look on her face.
"Okay, enough with the talking, Alvarez. Take a seat." Santana said, patting the empty chair beside her and Rosy stared at her with wide eyes.
"You want me to sit next to you?" Rosy asked and Santana sighed, rolling her eyes.
"The window of opportunity is closing in 3...2..." Santana said, counting down on her fingers and Rosy glanced around the room before quickly sitting down just as Santana's last finger went down. "So, Shrimpy-"
"Rosy." Rosy corrected and Quinn sighed.
"You sure are chatty aren't you? Almost like a Berry 2.0." Quinn muttered, resting her chin on her hand.
"It's insulting that this is the second time someone has compared me to Rachel this month." Rosy said, crossing her arms, and she noticed Santana and Quinn exchanging a glance, Santana looking slightly triumphant and Quinn looking skeptical. "Why did you guys invite me to sit down, again? I must have missed that part."
"I was just about to get to that, Shrimpy." Santana said, holding up a hand before Rosy could correct her again. "Quinn, Britt, and I have...noticed you. And we've come to the realization that you are total cheerleader material." Santana said and Rosy just stared at her, her eyebrows raised. "How would you like to try out for the Cheerios?"
"I'm sorry, what?" Rosy said and Quinn sighed, grabbing onto Rosy's arm, causing the girl to yelp again, and pulling her in close so they were both leaning over Santana.
"Cheerios. You. We could pull some strings, get you a tryout. You could walk down these hallways wearing this uniform. You could be popular. And seen. You wouldn't have to hide behind that goddamn camera everyday and actually show people your not-so-ugly face." Quinn hissed and Rosy stared at her, swallowing hard.
"Why would Coach Sylvester let me try out? I'm in Glee Club." Rosy said and Quinn sighed.
"Since we're all friends now and it's depressing seeing you sit by yourself every single rehearsal, out of the kindness of our hearts, we are offering you this opportunity." Quinn said and Rosy chewed on her bottom lip.
"Okay."
"Okay? So you'll try out?" Santana asked, pushing Quinn and Rosy back into their seats.
"I...I don't know. Just wait a minute, let me think." Rosy said, rubbing her arms and Quinn glared at her.
"What do you need to think about? You nail that audition and your high school career is secured. Once Glee Club ends, and believe me it will end, you'll have something to fill your miserable days with, other than walking around like a creep and taking photos of everyone. But, I'm not going to lie to you, being a Cheerio is tough. You're going to have to get up off your lazy ass and actually work hard. But, it's worth it. You're not such an ugly toad, though I might have said otherwise before, but with a Cheerios uniform on, you can finally get some attention from people."
