Can We Just Talk?

Ji Eun, Jungkook and Tae Oh were now seated in the living room sipping on their freshly brewed coffees that Tae Oh made. The atmosphere right now was a mix of awkwardness and uncomfortableness.

"So, you both actually knew each other from the past then,?" Jungkook asked breaking the silence.

"Yes hyung, noona tried hard to search for my mother with me but in the end, we ended up separating," Tae Oh said

"Tae oh, did you find your mother yet," Ji Eun asked looking into Tae Oh's sad eyes. She knew the answer but she had to ask.

"Sadly, no luck. I tried but it's like she vanished. Don't worry, I'm still trying but it's just when I typed my name into the system, there were no matches for parents. Like, Its at least suppose to mention my parents,my birthday and where I live but there was nothing! This is the government system I'm talking about!" he said

Jungkook suddenly choked on his coffee.

"Are you okay, President-- Jungkook?" Ji Eun asked

"Yes. Wait, why are you still in my house? Let me get the contract and get this over with so I can finally get some peace and quiet around here." he said and soon vanished behind the wooden doors.

"You hacked into the governments system?" Ji Eun asked

"Whoops, don't you worry about that . I'm an expert,"

"Noona, isn't it shocking meeting like this? The last I saw you was when you left me back at the orphanage," Tae Oh continued turning his attention on Ji Eun

"Are you doing okay here? How do you know the president anyway?" she asked worriedly

"Hyung took me in from the streets. I graduated college and now I work with Hyungs security system team here in Seoul but mostly I'm based in Busan. I stay with him because he doesn't have anyone else,"

"He has a rich family,"

"Noona, hyungs' mother died when he was young and his father and he aren't on good terms. He doesn't really open up to anyone and I know when he speaks it's like he's spitting fire at you but actually hyung is a nice guy," Tae Oh said

Ji Eun started to think. He was actually a nice guy? Could that be associated with her foul-tempered President? Almost everyone thinks he is the opposite of sweet. Is that why he hired her? Was it perhaps because he was trying to be a nice person?

"Noona, give me your phone number. We can make plans to eat out sometime!" Ji Eun and Tae Oh both exchanged numbers

"Here," Jungkook came back with the contract and handed it to Ji Eun. "Make an extra copy of this contract and pass it to manager Sejin. This time don't forget it and I would like to see the marketing teams plans on my desk by tomorrow. Get it from them. Goodnight. Tae Oh , show her out," Jungkook turned and left.

"Rude, he could at least smile," Ji Eun mumbled.

"Noona, should I drive you home?" Tae Oh asked smiling

" Could you? Thank you, Tae Oh. You grew up to be a fine gentleman!" Ji Eun said laughing

Tae Oh drove her back home using Jungkook's car and waved goodbye at her before speeding off home.

"Home Sweet Home,"

"Did that stupid president of yours gave you a drink at least?" Omma said while appearing in front of Ji Eun.

"Omma, don't call him stupid! It was my mistake anyway,"

"Nonsense,"

"Omma, do you remember Tae Oh? The boy I told you about in the past?"

"What about him?"

" It's just that, I met him today. He lives with my president and he's quite wealthy now,"

"Isn't that the boy from the orphanage? How could he suddenly become rich? Well whatever it is, don't go hanging around with him. He might be doing illegal business!
Maybe he sells women" she whispered

"OMMA!"

Ji Eun watched her mother walked out of her room.

" What kind of weird imagination does she have nowadays," she said while removing her make up from her face. It was already 12 a.m. Ji Eun quickly took her bath before changing into some pyjamas. She climbed into bed and turned off the lights.

It was a great day. She got a job and she met Tae Oh again. Everything would be fine.

That was at least what she thought.
