(Warning::: Mentions of a family member's death in this chapter.)
Rayne found out that vampries are real, and she doesn't know rather to be freaked out or neutral about it. She asked the Cullens for some time because she does know she wants to be away from them for a while.
When Rayne gets to school the next morning, Edward is gone but the other members of the Cullen family are there. Rosalie is watching Rayne longingly, Rayne sven parked on the other end of the parking lot - beside Bella's truck.
"Hi," Bella greets Rayne. "I'm Bella."
Rayne smiles immediately at the girl. "I'm Rayne. My dad works with your dad."
Bella's face contorts into confusion. "Who's your dad?"
"Quinton Davis," Rayne replies. "He's a deputy, next in line for chief after your dad."
"My dad brags about a deputy Davis a lot," Bella admits, she looks down shyly. "Can... can we be friends? I'm new and everything, I hardly know anyone."
"Sure," Rayne replies.
"Do you know Edward Cullen?" Bella asks. "Of course you do," she mutters to yourself. "Do you know where he is?"
"I'm sorry but I don't," Rayne replies. "I... had a disagreement with the Cullens, so I'm taking a break from them."
Bella nods and Rayne accompanied her inside. Bella goes to her junior class and Rayne goes to her senior class. A class that she shares with Rosalie. Rosalie's name in Rayne's phone is still My Rose 🥀 . Rayne does still like her, a lot, even if she's a vampire.
Carlisle told her that he and his family don't feed off human blood, they live off the blood of animals. Jasper is the newest coven member to the diet but he is usually calm around Rayne unless she's working out or blushing. And as long as he doesn't feel the others' blood lust, Jasper is usually able to fight the urges.
Rayne decides to sit with Rosalie today at her table. "Hey."
Rosalie smiles at Rayne, and she looks at her hands. "Hey."
"I'm sorry I asked for time but I do need it," Rayne admits. "I'm not scared of you or anything and I'll keep your secret. But Rose, its a lot to take in."
Rosalie's ice cold hand touches Rayne's forearm and she smiles. "I understand. Take all the time you need, I'll be here waiting."
Rayne lays her hand over Rosalie's and closes her blue eyes. Rosalie gazes at her until the teacher walks in, causing Rosalie and Rayne to stop touching each other and pay attention to the lesson of the week.

"Is Edward just gone or...?" Rayne asks Alana as they head toward the lunchroom, Rayne is sitting with the juniors again today but she wanted to talk to Alana.
"He is... hunting in Alaska for a few days," Alana replies. "Do you remember Carlisle explaining blood singers?"
"Yes, I remember," Rayne replies. "It sounds... intriguing."
"Bella is Edward's blood Singer," Alana states. "He had to hunt in order to even stand being around her."
"Does..." Rayne pauses as they stop at the stair way. "Does Rosalie get that way? Where she can't be near me?"
