Chapter 13: Being Targeted

Saturday evening, we're currently inside Drake's car. We're on our way now to what he called a 24 hours amusement park? Siya iyong kumatok kagabi at bigla na lang kaming niyaya pumunta sa isang 24 hours na amusement park. I didn't even know there was such a thing.

And by the way, we unexpectedly became close with this guy. He and Vyl to be exact. They got along with each other really well. Didn't saw that coming at all. He would sometimes barge in my unit to hang out and as for me, wala akong magagawa kaya hinahayaan ko na lang sila sa kung anong gusto nila sa buhay. I rolled my eyes at the thought.

Palaging ganiyan si Drake. Bigla-bigla lang nanghihila papunta sa kung saan. Last time, he invited us to have dinner in some fancy restaurant. I can't even remember how I managed to survive that with Vyl's behavior! He was so ignorant! He kept on standing on his chair like a kid just to get a better view of the place. People were looking at us! It was so embarrassing.

Ever since that day, Drake and I both agreed not to take him somewhere that would attract too much attention. He can't keep his behaviour in check.

And guess what, Drake's the son of the owner of Ton Hall Condominiums! Why didn't I realize that sooner? Halton. Ton Hall. That was so unexpected. Where did his father even get that?

Noong niyaya kami ni Drake kagabi, kahit hindi naman alam ni Vyl kung ano iyon, diretsong um-oo ang tukmol. I have to explain it to him at literal na nagningning ang kaniyang mga mata ng maintindihan kung ano ang amusement park. I can never stop them, kaya wala na akong nagawa kundi sumama na lamang dito.

Both me and Vyl are at the backseat of the car, leaving Drake alone in the front seat. Daldal sila ng daldal samantalang ako, as usual nakatingin lang sa labas ng bintana.

Nakarating na kami sa sinasabi nilang amusement park at kahit alas siyete na ng gabi, ang dami pa ring tao. Drake informed us that this amusement park is better at night because of the lights so, the number of people here is understandable. Still, it's making me uncomfortable.

"Come on, guys! Let's go in," sigaw ni Drake pagkatapos bumili ng ticket. Vyl grabbed my arm and excitedly went inside.

And by the way, Drake has no idea that Vyl is not human. I just told him that Vyl's the type of person who doesn't go out much. A spoiled brat, a shut in, anak-mayaman, gano'n. And as for why we're living together, I told him that Vyl ran away from home and so he's with me. Drake surprisingly believed that. Maybe because they're both idiots. You heard that right, Drake is an idiot too.

"Woah..." Bulalas ni Vyl nang makita ang mga naglalakihang rides at mga nagagandahang disenyo ng mga ilaw sa paligid. Indeed, the place is stunning.

The cold evening air is kissing my skin, making me shiver a little. I lifted my arms to hug myself, rubbing my hands on my arms. Napatingin sa gawi ko si Vyl.

"Why did you have to wear something short?" His brows were furrowed as he stared at me with a hint of irritation on his face.

Tinaasan ko lang siya ng kilay. I didn't mind what he said and just appreciated the view around us. Naka denim shorts lang kasi ako at puting polo na may stripes na kulay itim. I paired it with white shoes. My brown long hair is tied in a slight messy bun. Hindi naman ganoon kaikli ang pambaba ko. It's average.

Si Vyl naman ay naka ripped jeans na kulay itim at naka simple white shirt na may iconic design. I heard him grunted when he realized that I was ignoring his remarks. Then, he put his hand around my shoulders. He does that sometimes at hinahayaan ko lang naman siya. I bet this time, he's trying to keep me warm.

"It's okay, Vyl." I'm trying to tell him that he doesn't need to be that close. I am not that cold anyway. Ngunit mukhang hindi niyo ito naintindihan dahil hindi niya tinanggal ang pagkaka-akbay niya sa akin. Hindi niya ba naintindihan o sadyang binalewala niya lang ang sinabi ko? I snorted.
