Chapter 22: Zyrent Augen

After walking for a few more minutes, entering series of endless doors, interconnected chambers, and passages, we are now in front of a huge double door. It also has intricate patterns carved on it making it magnificent to look at. To think it's just a door. Golden lights run through it from the top all the way down to the ground.

Vyl pushed the door open and I was greeted by a stunning huge hall. Every part of the floor was carpeted. The walls are in gold and silver, making it shine when hit by the sunlight. Oversized windows are on each side.

I looked up and I was expecting to see chandeliers but instead, what I saw were floating candles! They were not lit yet because obviously it's still morning. The candles are in different sizes and there are even ones that are big and as tall as me!

Maraming mahahabang mesa at mga upuan ang nakahilera sa harap.

"Where are we?" Tanong ko kay Vyl habang naglalakad kami papasok.

"Meeting hall. We're now in the main chamber of the palace."

Naagaw ng pansin ko ang isang lalaking naka-upo sa may bandang dulo na tila may hinihintay. Nang bumaling siya sa amin, agad siyang tumayo at ngumiti. He is now walking towards us with the same dominant aura as Vyl.

He's familiar. I think I've seen him before.

"Zyrent."

Rinig kong tawag ni Vyl sa lalaking kasalukuyang naglalakad papunta sa amin ngayon.

"Brother..." Sinabi iyon no'ng Zyrent habang marahang yumuko, obviously showing respect.

Oh my god. He's Vyl's brother!

I didn't recognize him at all. He's different from what I saw back then when Vyl showed me his memories. Back then his hair was short. But now, he has long hair that almost reached his waist, still in different shades of gray. Deep blue eyes like what I remember. At iyong pagiging maamo ng kaniyang mukha ay ganoon pa rin. He almost looked like a girl if it weren't for his broad shoulders and well built body. Halos magkasing-katawan na rin sila ni Vyl.

They are both look handsome indeed.

"This is Ven Salazar." Nang tuluyang makalapit sa amin ang kaniyang kapatid ay agad niya akong pinakilala dito.

"She looks indeed like what you have described her," Zyrent said and flashed me a kind smile.

He looks cute! His voice sounds so gentle, the total opposite of Vyl. I do have a younger brother, but their aura is so different. Natutuwa ako sa kapatid ni Vyl for some reason. I bet he's famous around girls.

"Hi!" Masigla kong bati sa kaniya.

He laughed because of it then took my hand. I gasped when he kissed the back of my hand and bowed a little.

"Zyrent Augen. Vyl's younger brother. Nice to meet you, Miss Salazar."

I was smiling wildy the whole time. I got the urge to do a little curtsy to level his formality and gentleness. Sana lang nagawa ko iyon ng tama at hindi ako nagmukhang tanga. Binitawan niya na rin agad ang kamay ko at bumaling kay Vyl.

I saw Vyl's forehead creasing. Napataas ang kilay ko dahil sa naabutan kong ekspresyon ng kaniyang mukha. Iniling na lang niya ang kaniyang ulo at humarap na rin kay Zyrent.

"Any progress?" Tanong niya at naglakad na silang dalawa. Sumunod naman ako sa likod.

They're heading to the door on the other side of this huge hall. Ang daming pintuan. Nakakahilo. Daanan na naman pala iyon palabas. Paglabas namin ay agad akong binati ng sariwang hangin at mabangong amoy ng bulaklak.
