Kaida and I walked along the dirt path, she had a white backpack on her back and was looking around at everything, every now and again she'd catch sight of a new flower and go pick it, placing it into her book, claiming when we got to the Sand Village she was going to write down information of the flowers and explain what they could be used for, since she grew up reading her fathers medicine book she knew every flower and herb there was, she knew more than me, that's for sure, especially concerning flowers.
"This flower reminds me of you, Tenshi-sensei" I looked over to see her extending her arm up to me, holding a flower. I chuckled and accepted it, which she grinned at and ran back over to grab another to add to her book. I looked down at my hand, spotting the pure white petals that sprouted out, it only had five petals, having a golden center.
"this is the snowflake flower, also known as the Angel flower. Means hope and rebirth, mainly appearing within the snowy lands"
"you know a lot about flowers, despite not knowing anything about romance" I rolled my eyes at her words, sealing the flower into one of the seals between my fingers for safe keeping.
"you don't need to know romance to know the meaning of flowers, besides, I was taught these things as a child" I heard Kaida sticking her tongue out at me from behinds, I squinted at it, shaking my head knowing it was only the behavior of little children and didn't think much more of it.
I tilted my head up, looking at the sun that was directly above us, it was only noon, we would stop and rest for the night when the sun went down, or when Kaida was beginning to become sluggish, I didn't want to push her more then she was doing herself, right now though, she seemed to have all the energy in the world, running around, collecting flowers, talking about each and everyone one them as if they were priceless jewels.
"Tenshi-sensei, look, there's someone standing over there!" I paused and turned around instantly, hurrying to Kaida's side and looked to where she was pointing. Her hand was stretched out in front of her, pointing at the side view of someone wearing a black cloak, more so, the exact same cloak Itachi wore. I pulled her behind me, just in case, approaching slowly, in a matter of seconds, I could see the person in front of us was a woman with blue hair and an origami flower in her hair.
"miss, are you alright?" Kaida blurted, the woman turned her head immediately, taking a step became before taking a stance for both offence and defence. the woman stared at me with her golden eyes before moving down to Kaida who was peeking out from behind my back with her own large brown eyes, the woman stayed quiet for a few more minutes, before her shoulders relaxed and she sighed.
"yes, I'm alright. thank you for asking"
"that's a nice cloak, Tenshi-sensei, can I get one like that?" I chuckled at Kaida's words, of course she wouldn't take notice of the fact that it was the main identification of The Akatsuki but instead think it's a fashion piece.
"I'm sure you'll look nice in it" I responded back, making her grin up at me, before she spun her head to the right and gasped, running over to a black flower.
"I've never seen 'Queen of the Night' tupil's before, this is such a good find! they're really rare in these areas" I face palmed.
"is she your daughter?" The woman wondered, her face having a small smile on it, I blinked in confusion before shaking my head.
"she's one of my students-"
"she teaches all of us and she's a really great leader too, we haven't had to deal with rogues in months thanks to her!" Kaida butted in, running over and staring up at the woman with a large grin, the woman offered a small laugh in response.
"I didn't sense any chakra from you, so I didn't even consider you being a Kage" I shook my head.
"I'm no kage. I'm just the leader of a small settlement, I make sure they're safe and protected, that's all I want for them"
"do be careful, you sound like a great leader" she spoke softly, I nodded.
"thank you, take care of yourselves and don't run into any shinobi, I don't they'll take kindly to your cloak" I spoke seriously, something shined in her eyes before she nodded, I ushered Kaida over.
"we must be going, we have a mission to complete" with that Kaida and I began to walk away from the woman who stood there.
"Konan"
"hm?" I wondered, turning to look over my shoulder at the woman who took a step towards us.
"My name is Konan" I gave a smile in return.
"Tenshi"
