In The Leaf
The sound of the wings flapping caught Lady Tsunade's attention, she turned to find a messenger hawk sitting on the window seal, it clawed at the window and tapped its beak against the glass. She stood from the desk, disturbing the sleeping pig that was besides the desk who oinked. opening the window, she reached out and the bird jumped on her arm, taking it back to the desk she removed the scroll from the carrier on its back, unraveling it without a thought as she saw the Leaf Symbol on the corner, expecting it to be one of the teams out on missions giving an update.
as her eyes read over the first sentence, she stood up abruptly, slamming the scroll onto the table top. footsteps were heard and the door was pushed open, Lady Tsunade's assistant, Shizune, entered immediately.
"what's wrong, Lady Tsunade?" Shizune questioned, leaning down to pick up the small pig who trotted over to her oinking. Lady Tsunade remained silent, reading the letting sent in the scroll, before lifting her head and an angry expression was etched onto her face.
"Shizune. Call for Kakashi, Asuma, Kurenai and Gai. tell them to bring their teams immediately"
"right!" Shizune didn't waste any time in running out of the office with the pig, Tsunade fell back into her chair, rereading the scroll as if there was a secret message hidden between the lines that she had missed. It had been almost a year since the disappearance of Tenshi Namikaze and she just now sends word of where she is.
in ten minutes, the genin and jonin were stood in front of Tsunade, Shizune to the side out of breath and unsure of what was so important that she had to go and get these people.
"I've just gotten word of where Tenshi Namikaze is" Tsunade broke the silence, Shizune's eyes widened in surprise, just as the jonin's did by the news.
"so that means she's coming back, right?" Naruto, being the dense boy he was, shouted in hope.
"I'm afraid not."
"what, why?" Gai had yelled out accidentally, having hoped to see his first student after a year of her being missing.
"Tenshi Namikaze is the leader of a village, she won't be returning to the leaf. I want you all to pack, you'll be going to Ushinawareta Hitobito"
"so she's...safe?"
"yes" Kakashi seemed to relax at the news, he was absolutely thankful that she was okay and safe. When he found out she had gone missing when he was unconscious, he thought the worst and assumed she had been targeted by the Akatsuki because of her abilities.
"why are we going to Ushinawareta Hitobito?" Sakura wondered, confused.
"because that is the village she is the leader of, it's located near Sunagakura. I trust you'll be able to find it on your own"
"so we're going in blindly?" Asuma wondered.
"yes. You're all dismissed"
