I watched from the position I stood, I was in the back, making sure no one tried to sneak up on everyone. I watched as everyone chatted happily and conversed without a care in the world, I smiled gently seeing that everyone was okay with moving to a bigger place, with better resources. it just wasn't safe where we were and they knew that, even the children understood why we were moving. Kaida was in the front of the children, I told her that she was in charge of making sure everyone stayed together and she's taken it seriously.
Of course, Ren was behind the children, just to be sure, along with a few Sand Shinobi. we had been walking for a few hours, the sun was almost about to set and we hadn't found anywhere to set up camp that was big enough to cover everyone, I didn't know if it was safe enough to camp out in the open with this many people, there weren't any rogues around, but who's to say that will be true when we're resting for the night.
Daisuke was walking besides the Sand Shinobi he had put in a choke hold, I healed him to my fullest extent and gave a formal apology to both him and Gaara. they both seemed to accept it, understanding that Daisuke was an idiot.
"We should start thinking of setting up camp" Hideo voiced as we got to a somewhat large clearing amongst the cover of trees.
"I agree. we'll take shifts keeping watch in two's" Gaara spoke up, with the help of his shinobi, everyone was able to find a place to be in the clearing, a fire in the middle that would bring heat to all of us during the cold night in the open.
"This feels like a sleepover" Asuna chuckled, I rolled my eyes at her once more. she was basically the light of this settlement, always seeing the bright side of things.
"Ooo! can we tell ghost stories?"
"yeah! can we?"
"I've got a good one!"
"sure you do Akito"
"Kaida, be nice" I snorted at the conversation that the children were having, leave it to them to want to make the best of the situation at hand. I watched in amusement as they all brought their blankets closer to the fire, wrapping them around themselves and huddled together in a circle.
"you know, we don't know a lot about you, Tenshi. what are your origins?" Ren wondered, walking over.
"what do you mean? you all know I'm from The Leaf" I tilted my head in confusion.
"what about your family? are you from a clan?" I paused, thinking back to my biological parents and grimaced.
"you could say that" I snorted.
"tell tell" Asuna ushered, looking at me with wide eyes, wanting gossip no doubt.
"my birth parents were apart of clans of their own, My mother was the heir of The Toshimo Clan. My father was the heir to The Akibara Clan, his mother was an Uchiha." I answered.
"so you have the blood of three clans? that's so cool" I shook my head.
"even if i had the blood of my parents clans, I wouldn't know. I never tried to activate their Kekki genkai's or learn their clan jutsu, I didn't think it was important"
"why wouldn't you want to know if you had a Kekki genkai, isn't that a good trait to have?" Hideo wondered. I nodded, bringing a hand to rub the back of my neck.
"I wasn't close to my parents, they died when I was young"
"how young?"
"I was three when they both were gone, at that time, no one knew I existed. I lived by myself and learnt how to care for myself, I spent my days reading the books my mother had, until, well.."
"until..." Asuna was really invested in knowing this, she was leaning forward, waiting for the rest of the story.
"until The Fourth Hokage adopted me, he taught me everything I know. gave me a taijutsu teacher to learn under, helped me become the shinobi I am today" I smiled at the memory.
"do you have a photo of the both of you?" I flinched, shaking my head.
"I left without thinking, all the photos of my family are most likely still in the house I grew up in"
"Do you regret leaving?" I snorted.
"are you kidding? leaving was the best choice I ever made"
