"We can't thank you enough, Kazekage-sama" some of the villagers were thanking Gaara in helping us move, I smiled at the sight of him bowing to each and every one of them who thanked him over and over again, I looked around to find the children laying down in the grass, fast asleep. I chuckled at the sight and watched as Asuna and Ren went over the layout with Temari and Kankurou.

I cracked my fingers and brought out the scrolls I had, reading them all and throwing them over to Ren who caught them, I took a deep breath and got ready to get to work. Ren and I followed the directions of Asuna, who was telling us where to put houses, when we got to the place, I opened the scroll and Ren jumped back, I unsealed the small house I managed to seal, it was the smallest house, but it was a start.

"we can store our things inside this house in case it rains, the children can sleep inside as well as the elderly" everyone nodded and got to work, Gaara and I started on the wall, double checking the height with Asuna who after an hour let us know when we got to the height we needed.

The Sand Shinobi and the men of the villager were cutting wood and making the houses, the woman were started the farmland and gardens, working on secureing the scream that was now running straight through the village like a snake. hours passed and the sun began to set. Only three houses were built and a fifth of the wall was up and sturdy enough to hold back any attacks, everyone was tired and worn out, but kept smiling.

"Kazekage-sama, Tenshi-sensei, come join us!" The children cheered, Kaida came over and started to push me by my lower back, I stumbled and fell into a seated position next to Akito and Hana. Gaara was practically tackled to the ground by Loki and Ryun.

"Can you tell us about your hardest missions?" One of the girls asked, I thought about all the missions I had done since becoming a genin, my mind immediately went to the assassination of the young girl, but I didn't want to bring it up, especially when the girl is around the same age as the children of the village..

"Attacking The Leaf, was the hardest" Gaara spoke up after a few moments of silence, I moved my head slightly towards him in wonder.

"you attacked the leaf?" He had nodded to Kaida's question.

"we were under orders to attack, we had no idea our previous Kazekage was killed or that someone was disguised as him so we went along to his orders without a thought, a lot of people were lost on both sides and I'll never stop apologising for going along with it"

"Tenshi-sensei, you were from The Leaf, where were you in all of that? you're really strong, couldn't you have put a stop to it?" I flinched at the children's carefree attitude towards this, they didn't even seem taken aback that Gaara was once someone who killed people just because he was ordered to.

just like I was..

"I was fighting alongside the Hokage against the man disguised as the Kazekage" I answered quietly, bringing up my knees to my chest, wrapping my arms around them.

"did you win?" I took a deep breath, before shaking my head, looking out at the distance.

"The Hokage died because of my lack of strength and ability to defend, he gave his life for the village he loved and I will do just the same"

"so admirable"

"are you both getting married? Asuna was saying you were" I snapped my head over to Hana.

"no one is getting married, especially not me" I huffed.

"Oh come on, you'd look pretty in a wedding dress!" Asuna whined, I squinted up at her.

"that doesn't mean I have to get married, Asuna"

"you're in your youth, you'll need to get married soon" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm only sixteen, why would I want to get married right now? I was taught marriage was between people who loved each other, no offence to Gaara, but we're not that close, we haven't even known each other for a year"

"so when you and Gaara have known each other for a year you'll get married?" I face palmed.

"no, that's not what I meant"
