"SCORPIONNNN!" I flash stepped next to the children who were screaming and running around, I looked down to find a small sand scorpion covered in red dust from the children giving up clouds of it. I pursed my lips and reached down, grabbing the poor animal by its telson, brining a hand under it and letting it sit on my palm.
"calm down, if anything you've all scared it more than it scared you" I chuckled, watching the children hide behind each other. I shook my head and walked over to the edge of the path, crouching down and letting the scorpion run off under the cover of the bush. standing back up I came face to face with Asuna making me lean back in surprise.
"scorpions are kinda cute" I nodded.
"all animals are, it just takes an open mind to think that about them all" we continued to walk the path, we had just entered The Land of Wind so today would be our last day of traveling to the new place. surprisingly, no one was bothered by the long walk, if anything, they were getting happier the further we walked.
"Do you think we'll make it before sundown?" I looked up at the sky, it was just past noon. I turned back and looked at everyone smiling to each other as they walked before turning to Ren.
"I do. if we don't, it will be only a few more hours" she nodded.
"I'm just worried about the children, they have all this energy but they're sure to run out soon" Ren was always worrying about the children, she had come from Iwagakura about a month after I came to the group, she was wounded and holding onto a child for dear life, that child was Loki.
"Children-" I called, getting them to immediately turn towards me and run over, I chuckled at their attention and crossed my arms.
"don't run around so much anymore, you'll run out of energy. conserve energy and when we get to the new place I'll teach you The Clone Jutsu"
"aww yeah!" They exclaimed, running back to their previous spot, walking in pairs, slowly this time. Ren shook her head at them and laughed, Asuna joined in.
"you're good with children, you should really start thinking of having one of your own" I looked over at Daisuke who said that, shaking my head at his words.
