Why is Shaurya so obsessed with my past? Does he really think that I will harm my own husband or is he afraid that I am working as a spy for my father? What did I do for him to doubt my intentions? As much as I remember, I haven't yet acted in any way for him to act rude when he was the only person I found trustable when I first arrived here.

Is he trying to get Yuvaan back with Tamannah? But then why didn't he take his cousin's side and directly tell me to stay away from his best friend? And instead of talking about his assumptions with Yuvaan, why is he targeting me? Does he think that I would openly tell him everything when it had taken me so much efforts to move on?

Why are you still fussing over it, Reyna? Forget it; Shaurya might be one of the best lawyers, but he doesn't know everything. He is just trying to get under your skin and play with your mind to extract the information. Remember, he might say one thing but its meaning could be entirely different. I would advise you to keep your distance and not let his suspicions grow.

Only focus on yourself and your husband — he might be Yuvaan's best friend, but don't allow him to meddle in your relationship.

Hmm... you are right. I am just overthinking and—

Knock! Knock!

"What do you want?" I yelled from inside the washroom.

"Are you done changing?" Yuvaan asked while beating his fingers on the door.

"Yeah, I am almost done, but what do you need?"

"Can I stay in your room tonight?"

"Excuse me?" I opened the door and saw Yuvaan scratching his head awkwardly.

"Can I sleep here for the night?" he asked.

"You can sleep on the ceiling if you want; it is your house," I mumbled and went past him.

"Is that a yes?"

I shrugged my shoulders and laid down on my bed. Yuvaan waited for some time and then plopped down beside me. I didn't react and closed my eyes. Few seconds later, I heard some shuffling and shook my head when I heard a long sigh. I decided to ignore it but Yuvaan kept sighing loudly and blabbering in a low voice.

"Are you sleeping?" he questioned.

"Yes."

"I know you are pretending to be asleep."

"So?"

"We both are going to be awake whole night, so let's get some work done. We wasted today's day as it is."

"What work?" I opened my eyes and stared at him in confusion.

He got out of the bed and told me to follow him. I pondered over his proposal for a second and joined him on his way to his study room. He opened the door and grabbed my hand before I made a run from there. He dragged me inside and placed me in the middle of the huge mess of files and papers.
