It was Shruti Aunty- I mean my mother-in-law's last day in India, and she was returning to New York. I requested her to stay for some more time, but she assured me that she would try to come back soon and bring more gifts for me.

"What about me?" Yuvaan complained.

"You just take care of her, nothing else. I don't want any complain from her or you know what the consequences would be," she warned and hugged him.

Yuvaan shot me a mischievous glance and after meeting everyone, his Mom left the house and sat in the car which was going to drop her at the airport. As soon as she was out of sight, my husband closed the door and sighed in relief.

"Now finally I can do what I wanted," he mumbled.

"What are you talking about?" I questioned.

He turned towards me and grinned like a kid. He took me to the centre table and made me sit down on the couch. He brought out some files from his home office and spread them out on the glass surface.

"Sign on all these documents," he said and gave me a pen.

"Is this some kind of deal?" I queried with accusation.

"Nope. Those are your shares in my empire - you really have a short memory, don't you?"

"But I already said I don't want your money," I retorted.

"Yes, you don't, but that doesn't mean you can't have it. You are my wife so you deserve the equal share in everything."

"Wasn't you the one who said that if I had to stay in this house, I would have to earn my own bread? I don't want charity; I want a job. I am not going to sit idle and eat something for which I didn't work hard for."

"Is that so? I won't argue then. You will be coming to my office from today onwards, and I will teach you all about business," he offered and took a dramatic pause.

"What do you want in return?" I questioned as I caught what was going on in his mind.

"Food," he answered.

"What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"You don't have to do anything else. Just cook for me because I like to eat and be there where I can see you."

Wow. What a weird demand.

"That's something really easy, you know." I shrugged.

"We shall see," he commented and informed me that it was time for him to leave for office.

When I didn't move, he raised his eyebrows and it took me some time to realise that he was asking me to get ready myself and accompany him to his workplace.
