"What do you mean I was gifted to you?"
"It is not good to eavesdrop but you heard it right. You are a gift that was forcefully imposed on me."
"Y-You... are.... lying..."
"Am I? You know what? Gift is a very fancy term for you. 'Trash' suits you be...

"Don't you dare laugh right now."
"Please, Reyna, I said sorry multiple times. How long are you going to stay angry?"
I narrowed my eyes at my husband's reflection in the mirror, who gave me his puppy eyes when I refused to look at him as I got ready for office. Thanks to what happened two weeks ago, I almost had a heart attack when I learned about his condition and rushed to the office in half sleep.
I was fortunate that he was only unconscious and hadn't died. When Heena had called me to inform about how he had passed out and wasn't responding, I felt my soul leaving my body. I was really angry at him for not calling me when Tamannah came to his office, and he let her torture him.
"Kitten..."
"Stay on the bed. If you move even an inch, I will call your Mom again and enjoy seeing you getting beaten up," I threatened. "It hasn't been even a year to our marriage, and you wanted to kill yourself? Are you already tired of me?"
Yuvaan blinked rapidly and tried to control the smile forming on his lips. "I didn't because I got reminded of you. And I will never get tired of you, Reyna. Who will cook for me then?"
I picked up a nailpolish bottle and threw it in his direction. He dodged it and grinned. He pointed at the breakfast plate on the side table, and I shook my head as he waited for me to feed him. I checked the time and went to eat breakfast with him.
"Don't go anywhere without informing me. If I see you disobeying me, you can prepare yourself for the punishment," I warned.
"What kind of punishment?" he asked and wiggled his eyebrows.
I hit his cheek with the spoon. "Eat up, pervert. Don't forget to take your afternoon medicines, and don't try to scare the doctor like you did last time. Now that I know that you skipped your therapy sessions on purpose, I won't let you off if you do it again."
He nodded and finished off his meal. I got up to put the plates in the kitchen sink, but Yuvaan grabbed me and kissed me. He pecked my nose and thanked for taking care of him. I pursed my lips as I had nothing to reply. No matter how many times I told him not to thank me, he did it more.
"Come on, let me go now. I will be late, and Heena must be waiting for me. There's an important meeting today," I said.
"See, that's why I need to thank you. As long as you are there, I don't have to worry about my employees," Yuvaan said.
"But seriously, Yuvaan, how could you let me handle everything when I am a newbie? Aren't you afraid of going bankrupt? How can you look so confident?" I complained.
"I know you are more than efficient to overcome any problem in the workplace. Do you think I don't know how smart my wife is? I know who to trust and who not to."
