"Are you serious, Grandpa?"

I couldn't believe my eyes. I reread the piece of paper multiple times and glanced at Rickard Grandpa inbetween to see if he was pranking me. My friends shook my shoulders and hit me on the back when I refused to reply to their queries. They received a nice scolding from my mother-in-law for attacking me like that.

"You can ask me anything in case you have doubts," Grandpa said in a calm voice.

I let out a huge breath and read the letter again for the last time. I shook my head and kept it back in its box.

"I can't do it, Grandpa. I don't think I am qualified for it. How can you make me your heir just like that?" I asked.

While my friends and family gasped and commented how surprised they were, I stared at Mr. Rickard Charleston, the man whom I met a few months back but didn't feel like I met a stranger.

He was one of the most prominent business tycoons in the whole world, and a lot of people feared him due to his cold nature; I also heard from Heena that he scolded Yuvaan for not bringing me to his meeting before he took me to Italy.

I met Grandpa on that visit, and though he was our business client and partner, he never treated me anything less than his daughter.

But how could he trust a person he knew for such a small time interval when he had so many potential candidates waiting in line? Not to forget his distant family members, their sons and daughters ready to grab the opportunity.

"Why do you look so doubtful, Reyna? Don't you trust my decision?" Grandpa questioned.

"But... How could I...? It's such a huge task and taking my condition in consideration, I might ruin it all. I think there must be someone better than me who can handle your empire. And what is this? Why are you giving me your will so early? You aren't going to die, okay?"

Rickard grandpa's lips stretched into a small smile, and he got up from his chair. He came forward and sat down beside me, patting my head.

"I know I am healthy, but you can never guess what the future may hold. Today, I am here, and tomorrow, I might not be. I just want to hand over my years of hard work to someone I trust and hold dear. And that's none of my biological family, to be honest. I consider myself fortunate that I met you, and I know I am making the right decision."

I glimpsed at Yuvaan, who nodded his head at me. I understood his signal. He wasn't going to help me in making that decision. I had to do it myself and take responsibility for it too. I really admired that he never underestimated me, but I really needed his help this time.

"Yuvaan, what should I do? Help me," I said.

"It's your call, Reyna. I won't interfere. I know you can do it." He smiled.
