Kids... I really want kids now more than I ever wished. After hearing Yuvaan talk about babies almost every day, my desire to have a mini replica of Yuvaan and me is increasing. Well, we don't hold back at all, but I haven't seen any progress regarding my pregnancy.

And my hopes were crushed when I got my periods after two months. I thought I had missed them for good, but I got a severe cramp while I was in Raghuveer's office. I thought I could bear it like previous times, but I remembered what my gynaecologist had suggested me.

My menstrual cycles were still irregular even after consuming medicines, and the pain wasn't reducing in any way. So, after a lot of procrastination, I booked an appointment and went to get myself checked and solve my doubts. Once I reached the clinic, the doctor greeted me and asked me about my health.

She sighed when I told her that it still felt like hell during periods and the flow was heavy too. Without wasting anymore time, she did her routine checkup, and I told her about how I and my husband were planning for a baby. She nodded absentmindedly while going through my reports but bit her lower lip as she stole a glance at me.

"What happened, Doctor? Is there something serious?" I asked.

"Well..." she put the documents down on her desk, "Your physical condition has improved a lot, which is quite commendable, but there is still not any positive sign regarding your menstrual cycles. The numbers haven't changed that much from the last time, and I doubt if you are overworking yourself, Mrs. Raichand."

"No, I am not overworking." I waved her off.

"If it isn't that, then it must be some mental stress. Are you worried about something lately? Maybe about getting pregnant?"

I opened my mouth to answer her, but I realised that I wasn't worried about getting pregnant — I was sure I was going to get my tummy inflated soon by the pace Yuvaan and I were going. As for the mental stress, I knew what the doctor meant.

"Yeah, I am a bit stressed about the current projects I am handling," I lied. "But it isn't that big of a deal."

The doctor gave me a short nod and wrote down something in her notepad. After browsing through her files and computer for some time, she excused herself and went to discuss something with her senior. I didn't want to feel scared but the way her face remained stoic and colourless told me that there was something wrong.

After a few minutes, the doctor came back and gave me a list of extra medicines I had to buy along with the previous ones. She put on a small smile on her face and gave me the same lecture about my diet and daily routine. Finally, the moment I was waiting for came.

"I am sorry to inform, Mrs. Raichand, but the chances of you conceiving are really low. And even if you do conceive, the probability of miscarriage or preeclampsia are really high. Going by the current statistics, I would advise you to go for advanced treatments, but the procedures might increase the risk," she said.
