Mom had came back from her walk, but still hadn't said a word. I'm starving as usual so I decided to go pick up something for the both of us. Normally mom isn't a fan of eating out so much, but lately no one dared to step foot in the kitchen. Nor have they went to the grocery store. That's another thing about me if I never had to go into a store it would be the greatest day of my life. Today I just want to get out the house and see what Atlanta is all about. So far I had a ton of soul food and American foods, so I don't really know what I have a taste for.
Outside it's like ninety degrees and I'm burning up. When walking in this weather, it's literally no joke. All of a sudden I'm starting to have a craving for a hamburger, fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Our house is basically the center of everything. Yes we are still in the mid of traffic but everything is sort of in a walking distance. Using my phone I sent mom a quick text asking what she wanted while I'm out, and used this app to find a place to eat. After scrolling through the app, I found a diner that served burgers and had five stars. I guess it's worth giving a try.
At the diner:
The inside of the nearest diner kind of gives me a 80's vibe. The sound of music playing through a jukebox filled the packed diner. Many people from school were sitting in the bright pink booths amongst their friends. I even noticed Bianca and her clan near the back, but I'm choosing to pretend that I didn't see her. I followed a group of boys walking to the ordering section. While waiting to order I looked up at all the bright colors, even the floor was colored in pink and a color between blue and green. Finally it was my turn I went back to my phone to check to see what mom wanted."Let me get a number two with a strawberry shake and a number four with a diet coke." I paid the guy up front waiting for him to write everything up.
"It'll be out soon," said the cashier as he handed me a bunch of crumbled bills.
Suddenly I felt someone tap my shoulder. I already knew it was Bianca because I mean who else could it be. "Funny how we always meet. Come sit with us," said Bianca as she grabbed on to my arm, as she dragged me to the booth that she was sitting at originally. I don't have anything to say to her and most importantly I didn't come here for her. I'm strictly on a mission that consists of my food. I watched as Bianca leaned over the table to whisper, "Why you always running? You still have to wait, so just sit." I really want to know who she think she is because I'm with it all. Giving everyone at the table a death stare, I shoved the guy who's stopping me from getting up down to the ground. I made my way to the entrance, while hearing them scoff as I left.
"Order up!" I grabbed my food and made way to go home. In the process of trying to steal a fry, I began to feel that something was about to happen. I think that it's just me being paranoid as usual. However take it from me, always go with your instinct. The sidewalk that I'm standing on didn't have anyone else and the traffic is bumper to bumper like normally. Suddenly the sound of laughter crept up behind me. Turning around I'm now face to face with no other than Bianca staring back at me. I can already tell that she isn't up to any good, so I dropped my food on the pavement. They really think it's a okay to mess with me when I'm hungry. I think not.
"Aye girl why you acting like that?" asked the guy that I pushed from earlier. I'm still confused as to whose aye girl? I can only roll my eyes because I'm so sick of Bianca and her little friends.
"The name is Kailyn Monroe or Kai for short. I don't know whose aye girl but she isn't me," I replied bitterly, while pulling my hair into a sloppy bun leaving majority of hair out because the heat is now starting to get to me.
"Girl acting like she about to do something?" added another nobody from Bianca's clan. I think they really think that I'm not with punching somebody in the face. In all reality if the time comes I'm always ready for whatever. I guess I'm just going to have to prove them wrong. After years of holding onto so much anger, I can become crazy at any given time while blacking out. Like now.
