He smiled back at her walking straight into her home, "Well hello, to you too Maya," said Carter sacrastically.

Maya, was shocked that he came to this side of town and the fact that he was here after their conversation. She was uncomfortable but she couldn't tell him that.

"How did you even know where I moved to?"

"Did you forget who you married? I have my ways and besides it comes with the job. I know everything."

"So, basically you tracked me down using your so called "job". I'm not stupid Carter, I know what you do for a living."

Maya knew for the longest, but she chose to keep her mouth shut for the sake of her daughter and her life.

"I'm glad that you are aware, but shut up about stuff you don't know shi* about," he took in his surroundings observing everything. "How could you live in this dump?"

Maya crossed her arms becoming more irritated, "Last time I checked you were the bright one to have an affair and kick your family out of a house that your wife helped to pick out. Or did you forget?" She looked down at him in disgust.

"You act like I wanted to...You never listened and you were always complaining, asking questions."

"That's the best you got? I was complaining because you would come home at all different times of the night. Granted, I knew your job meant being out in the streets but I'm not stupid. You think I am, but I'm not. Coming home drunk smelling like a cheap hoe made it pretty clear what you were out really doing. Now to mention you getting mad because I would confront you, which only resulted in you hitting me. Last time I checked I would never hit myself it was your fist slamming into my face."

He hung his head low in guilt, "Look, I know I was messed up but you didn't help. You just added to everything!"

Between the two it was a yelling match. Maya was upset to hear how he believed that he could justify his actions.

"Get out my house, now!" she asked walking close to the door.

"Make me," he shrugged, "I see, I didn't hit you hard enough because I see that you still don't have any sense."

Maya face was now soaked with tears and bright red from frustration.

"Get the hell out of my-"

"Maybe if I did the same to Kailyn she would've had more sense."

Maya shook her head furiously in certainty, "I would've never let that happen!"

"Are you so sure about that?" he smiled back at her trying to taunt her.

"This is my last time saying it. Get...out of my house or I'll call the cops."

The two stared at each other until Maya went to grab her phone until Carter charged towards her snatching the her phone, throwing it across the room. Leaving his grip on her wrist holding it tightly making her wince. Maya shut her eyes trying to think about anything else. When she finally opened her eyes he smiled at her lossening his grip.

"You were always afraid of me. I always thought that, that was cute. But I'm gone," he said leaving, Maya disorientated.

*Back at the hosptial...

Already on her third cup of watered down coffee, she sat down. Right after Carter left, Maya soon left right after. She changed her clothes but didn't bother to eat. She didn't have the appetite. As she took a sip from her cup she got a glimpse of receptionist motioning for her to come here.

"Sorry ma'am. We've been trying to contact you. The doctor requested to talk to you," she said eagerly.

"You probably weren't able to reach me since my phone died in the car. Do you know what he wants?"

She shook her head, "No ma'am I don't. The only thing that I know is that I was suppose to notify you. If you want, you can take a seat while I'll page the doctor.

She turned back in the direction of her normal seat making herself another cup of coffee preparing herself for either some good or bad news. After thirty minutes she thought the doctor forgot about her.

"Ma'am he should be on his way. I'll let you know when he's here."

Waiting another fifteen minutes the doctor finally reappeared like he was defeated, "I have some bad news, Mrs. Monroe. I don't know how to say this but... Kailyn didn't make it."

Maya blocked out the whole room. She felt weightless her cup of coffee slipped through her hands spilling its content all over the floor. She felt dizzy and soon fell out hitting her head in the process while closing her eyes.

Her last thought was, "My daughter is gone."
