*Omniscient POV:
"She's a lot stronger on the outside than inside. So many nights she couldn't handle anything so she did the exact same thing sat and collected her thoughts. I'm only telling you this so I can make sure nothing else bad happens."
"I appericate you for telling me."
"I only told you because she only seems to trust you," she said picking her bag up and leaving.
They had only been the ones in the room because she had to tell somebody. She hoped that her friend would understand.
Back to Kailyn POV/ Three Days Later:
Sweat constantly is pouring off me as I grab my next order. The weekends here at the diner are the busiet. I've been working like crazy. Ever since seeing Tiffany the other day she's been staying consistent coming into the diner.
I know that she can tell that I don't want to talk to her but here she comes everyday. Yes, I do miss my friend but it wasn't her place to bring back old memories as if she actually went through it herself. That's the thing about Tiffany she likes to talk things out but I'm the very opposite. I've never seen the point of trying to express my feelings when people easily use it against you.
"Hey Kailyn some more people came in. Can you handle it?" asked Jessica as she tried to balance the stack of plates in each of her hands.
"I got it." I fix my ponytail and apron and got back to work.
The loud noise of clatter, chats, and music bouncing off the walls help to distract me from everything. I'm starting to think working everyday and juggling between school and work is slowly starting to catch up with me. Fortunately though today's Sunday so the diner should go back to normal tomorrow. However I have to go back to school meaning I have to see the rodents.
"Here's your food I'll be back with your refills," I said tiredly before walking to the back. Our drink station is in a weird spot. It's angled directly in front of Mr. Andy's office so I see him quite often.
"Kai I need to talk to you," Mr. Andy said as he noticed me.
As I finished filling the cups, I only nodded in response. But first I need to get these out. After coming back from the customers. I went straight to Mr. Andy office to only see him looking agitated. Thinking that this is serious I shut the door behind me.
"Is there something you need to tell me?" he asked flatly.
Saying that I'm confused is an understatement. Here goes another person thinking that they know something about me. When they're no where close to understanding a thing that has ever happened to me.
"Nope."
"Don't lie to me. I told you when you first walked into my diner I had a feeling that you were hiding something. Then yesterday your friend-"
"Friend? Who are you talking about?"
Kailyn Monroe doesn't have friends. I'm too much of a closed off person for that.
Mr. Andy rolled his eyes in response to my question. "Don't play dumb you're far to smart for that. Yesterday when you were sitting with that girl Tiffany, that was my first time ever seeing you look happy about anything. I didn't want to say anything but I saw the bruise on your face."
For a second I thought Tiffany loud mouth had said something but I guess I was wrong. I still don't know how I'm going to get out of this since this man can literally tell a lie from a mile away.
"Sir, that bruise on my face came from me and this girl getting into it. There's nothing going on with me. It was just us playing around until things got a little serious. If it makes you feel better my mom already knows."
