This morning mom didn't come to visit me like she normally does. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. For some reason when people go out there norm it gives me anxiety. Because I always assume the worse. Now it's still the daytime which means the nurses turn on the tv as if I can enjoy it. However, I have been keeping up with the news like now. The annoying voice of the guy from the news spoke:

"Welcome back everyone. Today's segment includes the story about the young teen who tried to commit suicide at a nearby apartment complex. We asked you guys to contact the station with any news and you did. We were able to contact the mother and here she is. Please welcome, Maya Monroe."

If I could get out this bed I would. Why would she do this to me. I swear she does stuff for herself instead of me. Does she know what she's done?

"Good evening everyone. As you all heard my daughter Kailyn attempted suicide. The last three days have been very hard for me. I'm making every attempt to understand what happened because I know my daughter. She's shy, calm, and strong minded. She would never do something like this. If you know anything about Kailyn that could possibly help me get to the bottom of this, please don't hesitate to call me. I appreciate everyone for their prayers. Kailyn would be so grateful to see a town that barely knows about us cares so much. Thank you for everything," said mom.

I can't help to feel ashamed about all of this. If I do live to see another day there's no coming back for this.

"From Our Channel 15 News we would like to personally thank, Mrs. Monroe for her taking the time out of her day and her daughter to speak to us. Again, we're asking you all as a community to take this seriously. We all know that Atlanta is known for somethings, but this story in particular is causing more attention. So I'm bringing to you some new information. Yesterday, after our segment we got a call from the police station. Kailyn's, suicide's attempt is now turning into an ongoing investigation. Many no longer believe that this was an suicide attempt more like done as a way to cope from someone's actions. Our time is up for today but tomorrow we shall have more info. My name is Keith Davenport and thank you for watching Our Channel 15 News."

What has mom done? I'm not even going to think about their being a case. I don't understand why there's even going to be an investigation because there's nothing to investigate. I wanted to die for me and that's it!

Omniscient POV @ Diner:

The normal clatter of dishes being thrown in the washer, people chatting loudly over the music, and people feeding their faces was happening at the diner. The diner was really busy today, but without the help of Kailyn it didn't seize down. Mr. Andy and Jessica continued to call her, but was answered by her voicemail in return.

"Here's your food. I'll be right back with your refills," said Jessica, as she grabbed onto two more plates at the pick up station.

She was the only one out front and she was exhausted. Between working a second job and taking care of her son Jayden, she barely had been getting any sleep. However, she had to keep going not for her, but her son.

Mr. Andy, sat in his office chair looking at the security camera's wondering where in the hell was Kailyn. He felt that she just up and disappeared. It was one thing not to answer his phone calls, but not Jessica. Something was up because he had a gut feeling. Maybe he should've listened to it.

...

It was now 8:00, so majority of everyone was out the diner except for an older couple. So, Jessica made sure they were good before heading to the back to check on Mr. Andy. As she walked into his office, he had a cigar in his hand and feet propped up onto his desk watching the news. Jessica, rolled her eyes in disappointment.

"Andy, you know you don't need to be doing that and besides that's disgusting."

He looked up from the screen before laughing, "Girl I'm old enough to do what I please and don't get me started on what's so called "disgusting". Everything about this world is disgusting everybody out there doing god knows what getting their lives, but no you wanna be all up in my face trying to bother me about a cigar, child please."

Jessica, rolled her eyes earning a smile from Mr. Andy, "You won't be satisfied until they be stuck and you can't see no more." He said almost choking between his laughter and the smoke.

"Ha-Ha. That's what you get. But I didn't come in here for you, you old man-"

"Everybody going to stop calling me old. I guarantee you that I still be out there getting my life just like y'all young folks. You better ask about me."

Jessica, tried not to gag but ignored him, "Before I was rudely interrupted, I'm here to talk about Kailyn," Mr. Andy, eagerly sat up hoping to hear that she heard from Kailyn. "Have you heard for Kailyn. I swear when we found out where she is-"

"Hush girl! You talk too much giving me a headache."

Mr. Andy, was now focusing back on the tv watching it until he heard a name he knew.

"- Good evening everyone. As you all heard my daughter Kailyn attempted suicide..."

"Wait... turn that up!" semi yelled, Jessica.

The news continued making Mr. Andy shed a few tears, but quickly wiped them away.

"No! No! No! I literally saw her days ago this is my fault. I knew something was up with her. If I wouldn't have been so stupid, I would've drove back to her place the next day but there I was being selfish going home because I was too tired from working two jobs," cried Jessica.

Mr. Andy, was at a lost for words. He felt his heartache. He felt Kailyn was like a daughter that he never had. He wanted to protect her and teach her right from wrong, but he failed.

"Jessica you can't blame yourself. You told me yourself that you went to go and check on her the first day that she didn't show up to work. You did your part you, you tried to show her that you cared. Don't forgot that you're a human too, a mother who's providing for her son, and working two jobs. Yes, we feel bad for Kailyn but it's not neither one of our faults. If she wanted to talk to us, she could've but maybe she just didn't know how...." he stopped to blink away tears and pull Jessica into a tight hug. "Let's go to the hospital."

*Meanwhile...

On the other side of the hospital Maya head was resting in her hands. She just came back from the news station and she felt exhausted. It had been days since she got any sleep, but that didn't matter to her, only her daughter getting better did. Looking up she saw two people arguing at the receptionist desk. She sighed thinking that their behavior wasn't fit for a hospital, but she ignored them until she saw Nurse Jayde.

"Are you Maya Monroe?" asked a short mid-aged woman, who wore bright scrubs with a short ponytail.

"Yep, that's me. Is this about my daughter?" sighed Maya, not being able to take anymore bad news.

"Well Mrs. Monroe, I'm Nurse Jayde. I work with Dr. McCall. I was told to inform you about Kailyn's progress. Lately, her breathing has been low, which is a bit irregular. We know she's in a coma in all, but without oxygen flowing correctly to her brain, her chances of recovering are slim. Your daughter will have to go under a procedure, while in a coma. The procedure will consist of a blood transfusion, but we need you're approval."

"My approval?"

"Yes ma'am. We need permission to perform the procedure. If you choose for us not to, then your daughter may not make it. While, if you do allow us to do this then there might be a possibility of something still going wrong. It's a tricky situation, but if I were you I would chose fast because your daughter is only becoming weaker. The choice is yours."
