34. Family Affair

Omniscient POV:

     *Ten mintues before recap-

The hospitals door slided allowing for Veronica and Carter to walk hand and hand. The two walked up to the receptionist desk.

"Hello we're here to see Kailyn Monroe," said Veronica, while Carter rolled his eyes. He was irritated tthat she forced him to come down here. He said what he said. He meant that he wasn't coming to the hospital unless Kailyn was dead but when Veronica saw her on the news she begged him to take some initiative. If it meant that she would shut up, he was down.

"Your name and relation to the patient." Veronica eyed her boyfriend seeing if he would speak up when he didn't she did it while shaking her head in disappointment.

"He's her father, Carter Monroe. I'm Veronica Wallace, his girlfriend."

The receptionist typed away and handed them each a slip, "Those are y' all passes. You'll need them when you go in the back. Also, you'll need to wait for someone to escort you." Veronica smiled and grabbed onto Carter's hand.

After waiting for five minutes, someone came to get them.

"Um sir you're allowed back since you're kin, but as for her she'll need to wait in the waiting room.

Veronica understood because she wasn't family. She only came for support. As she began to walk off, she was grabbed roughly on her already sore wrist.

"So what, this dude tells you something and you listen?" he tried counting to ten before looking in the direction of the male nurse. "Look she came with me so she's staying with me. Got a problem with it then take it up with me." Veronica was too afraid to speak up.

"There's no problem. It's just that your daughter is in critical care, so only family is allowed in the back."

"Where is she!" Carter yelled making the nurse jump back. He was new and never experienced a situation like this so he didn't know how to handle it.

*Reality...

"Hey, what's going on here?" asked Nurse Jayde annoyed. She was having a good morning but somebody just had to ruin it.

"Somebody needs to take me to my daughter that's what's going on!" he yelled.

Nurse Jayde tried to always keep her cool because she was a nurse, but she didn't do well with disrespect. It didn't vibe out with her energy.

"First off sir I'm going to ask for you to lower-"

He was running out of patients so he was becoming more annoyed, "Look girl take me to my daughter and shut up with all the extra."

By now she was heated but she had to keep it cute because she was at work. "Look baby boy I'm not a girl. I'm a grown woman. Get it correct. You'll address me as Nurse Jayde because I didn't sit my black behind in them classes just to be called anything less. We're in a hospital so keep it down, but best believe if I didn't have this uniform on you would get this business. However, today I'll spare your life in the meantime. What's your daughter name?" she rolled her eyes glaring at Carter.

"Her name is Kailyn Monroe." Veronica spoke for him since she knew how he was when he was upset. He would shut everyone out until he exploded with anger. He didn't take well to threats whether they came from a male or female.

Nurse Jayde pointed to the door behind them and whispered, "She's in here but don't come in here with all that extra. Keep it cute or put that bull on mute. Got it?"
