Chapter theme: Emily Burns - Is It Just Me?

I exhaled deeply, staring at the ceiling. We drank a bit earlier, I'm supposed to get sleepy by now, but unfortunately I'm wide awake.

I approached with a faint smile. I dusted it a bit, caressing the cover.

"Jahiem, what do you think?" I asked, elbowing him a bit.

"Project 'yan?" Agad akong umiling sa tanong niya.

"Dream house." Nahihiya kong pag-amin. Just a simple two-story framed with aluminum on every corner to achieve a modern look. A balcony overy the garage. Four bedrooms. Lastly, a garden and a pool area.

"Para sa inyo ni Riley?" Nakangisi pa siya. "Pamilya agad, Greno? His joke made me smack his head.

"It's just for me and my own dreams." Sinara ko tuloy ang sketch pad. "And hopefully for Riley too. I want to be her future."

Jahiem stared at me, chuckling.

I scoffed bitterly as I opened the pages. The moment I saw my old sketch, memories came flooding in my brain.

Riley is the reason why I pursued Architecture. I know her since 7th grade, I saw a picture of her on Facebook, it was posted by her mom. Naging interesado.

I thought the picture of her was very beautiful and innocent. She was laughing brightly, holding a cone of ice cream. Her white dress flowed in the wind, and it stood out in the green scenery. Not to mention the sunset casted an alluring shade of orange and red.

I drew that picture. And it's still here.

"You're still an innocent white lily."

"You're really pretty, my sloppy pencil strokes doesn't give you justice."

Not gonna lie, it really took me two years to perfect it.
