1 year later—June 24, 2026

The day have finally came for Kairi to leave and move into her condo that she found a week ago and honestly I don't know how to feel about it. It's going to be different with not waking up and seeing Kairi at the table for breakfast but she's 18 and a highschool graduate she'll be starting her fashion career in less than 2 months and I'm proud of her she's following her dreams. This school term I'm going to be a junior in highschool one more year then I'll be graduating.

"Rim."

I paused my game looking towards my door seeing Kairi.

"Wassup sis."

"We're about to head to my condo."

"Already?"

"Uh bro a couple hours have passed."

"Oh."

I saved my progress on my game then I turned it off and stood up I put my slides on and grabbed my phone.

"You know if you want to come and visit you're always welcome."

"I know Kai it's just going to be weird not seeing you in the morning."

"Yeah not seeing y'all is definitely going to be weird. You riding with me or mama and daddy?"

"I'll ride with you."

"Alright let's go."

We walked out of my room and made our way downstairs I already know my dad is going to act cool like he's fine with his first babygirl leaving.

"Rim who you riding with," my mama asked.

"Kai."

"Alright."

We walked out of the house and over to the cars Kairi unlocked her G-Wagon doors and we got in I put my seatbelt on.

"You started thinking about colleges and where you want to go," Kairi asked as she drove.

"Yep I want to go to an HBCU?"

"Great choice have you decided which HBCU?"

"Morehouse."

"Okay okay that's a good choice as well."

"I just don't know how mama is going to react to me choosing Morehouse and leaving."

"You thought her crying this morning over me leaving was bad you haven't seen anything yet you're the first boy so you know she gon have a heart attack."

I nodded I'm a straight A student, play basketball and I was class Vice President could've been President but Kairi beat me by one vote. We're both competitive so the whole student election thing wasn't easy but eventually they voted and my big sis won.

"You think you handle being class president?"

"Yeah I learned from the best."

"That's right you did stay true to yourself and don't let anyone change who you are."

"You know I won't."
