Kaarim I quietly got out of bed and made my way over to the bathroom to shower. After my shower I walked out of the bathroom going to the closet. I got my outfit and shoes I walked out of the closet going over to the dresser. I opened the top drawer carefully and got my boxers out I put them on and grabbed a pair of socks. I closed the drawer back then I got dressed. I grabbed my phone, wallet and keys I kissed Brittany forehead and walked out of the room closing the door behind me.
I made sure the door was locked then I walked over to my car and unlocked the doors and got in. I placed my seatbelt on and started up my car and put the gear in drive. I drove down the driveway.
Thirty minutes later I pulled up to Waffle House I parked and got out. I walked inside and spotted Mr. Brian I walked over to the booth and sat down.

"Why we had to meet at Waffle House for breakfast you could've cooked breakfast," he asked.
"What I have to say your beautiful daughter and my girlfriend can't here," I spoke.
Mr. Brian raised his eyebrows.
"And why can't she?"
"I want your blessing to propose to Brittany."
"She's not pregnant is she?"
"No sir I'm just ready to make that next step in our relationship I love Brittany and I don't see myself with any other woman besides her and no I don't need to explore my options she is my one and only option she's my home."
The waiter came and took our orders and got the menus.
"You got my blessing Rim since you and Brittany started dating I saw you as my son and you've been treating my babygirl right all she talk about is Rim this and Rim that daddy I think Rim is going to propose to me when I graduate Spelman little did we both know that you're planning on proposing now."
"Yes sir."
"Have you started ring shopping?"
"I'm going to start today."
"Brittany have-," I cut him off.
"A few particular engagement rings that she has been looking at I have several pictures in my phone and I know exactly how I want to do her ring."
"And what's that?"
"You promise you want say anything to Britt?"
"No."
I looked at Mr. Brian and he dropped his head and chuckled then looked up at me.
"She's my babygirl and we tell each other pretty much anything but no I won't tell her now Lyric on the other hand is the one you gotta worry about."
"Mama Lyric can't know anything about this proposal."
