2 years later— August 3, 2028

I zipped up my last suitcase and walked out of the closet and placed it by the door. It's a official ya boy is finally going to college and I couldn't be more excited to be in the same state and city as my girl. Brittany is now a sophomore in college and things between us have been going amazing we argue here and there but every relationship isn't easy. I looked around my now empty room and smiled a little there was a knock at my door and it opened I looked seeing my mama.

"You're ready to go?"

"Yes ma'am."

My mama walked further in my room.

"Seems like yesterday I was just tucking you in, singing to you and laying with you until you fell asleep when you were sick."

"Yeah," I said replaying all of my childhood memories.

"Now you're 18 and going off to college."

"I am."

"What time will your Audi be at your condo?"

"Around 5:00."

"Okay me and your daddy is going to make sure that it gets delivered on time."

"Yes ma'am."

"Let's get you to the jet."

"Okay."

I grabbed my suitcase and carry on bag then we walked out of my room, down the hall and down the stairs.

We walked downstairs and outside my pop trunk was open and I placed my bags in the trunk. I closed the trunk down and got in the back seat closing the door behind me. My pop got out and opened the passenger door for my mama she thanked him and got in he closed the passenger door and walked around to the driver side and got in.

"Rim you want to stop and get something to eat?"

"Nah pop I'm good."

My pop nodded and drove down the driveway so far my mama have been holding it together but I know as soon as I get ready to get on the jet she's going to start crying and I'm going to cry with her.

My mama is my queen and I love that woman everything that I needed her and my pop made sure that I had it don't get me wrong I love my pop as much as I love my mama but that mama love hit different and it's going to be hard for me to say goodbye. I thought about going to NYU to be closer to them but my parents both stressed to me that I don't have to go to school in New York because they're here I can go to any school I want and they wanted me to go to an HBCU anyways. I applied for Moorehouse and several other HBCUs and I got accepted to all of them but I went with Moorehouse not because I'll be closer to Brittany but because of the tour experience I got and I felt more at home with them.

I felt someone shaking me I looked seeing Kaleena hand on my arm.

"You fell asleep Rim but we're here."

"Alright."

I got out and stretched then I walked to the trunk and grabbed my bags I closed my pop trunk down I walked towards the front of my pop Range Rover.

"I'm going to miss you Rim."

"I'm going to miss you too Leena Ima call y'all as much as possible."

"Okay."

We hugged.

"Make sure you keep that promise Rim."

"You know I am East."
