Chapter 20
DIMITRI"Guardian Belikov," a voice called from behind me. I turned slowly and smiled as I saw a guardian whose name I had forgotten. She was Headmistress Kirova's guardian; and she never left her side unless it was absolutely necessary.
"The headmistress requires your presence in her office," she said with a slight British accent. From the way she spoke I could guess she was English. I give a curt nod of my head as to say "okay" and followed her as she led the way to the office.
We walked in silence, neither of us knowing what to say to the other. We finally reached the office of the headmistress and entered.
"Ah Guardian Belikov, nice of you to join us," Headmistress Kirova said upon my arrival. I scrutinised the room and noticed that Prince Dashkov was situated in a chair across from where the headmistress was currently allocated. The guardian from earlier was standing not far from the headmistress trying to appear as though she wasn't paying attention to the conversation. Two of Prince Dashkov's guardians were also in the room standing against the wall and an extra guardian near the entrance.
"Sit," Headmistress's voice brought me back to the present. I looked at the empty seat beside the prince and hesitated before deciding to sit down. God it felt good to be the one sitting.
"I'm guessing you are curious as to why you are currently here," Headmistress Kirova said looking directly at me.
"Yes I am," I said.
"Well I am to ask as to how Rosemarie is doing in training," she commanded more than ask.
"She's been making an incredible progress in all her training. Her behaviour is on the road of progress. In a few more weeks she will probably be able to the same level as the other novices or even on a higher level. She has so much potential and I can see that," I began to ramble on. I looked away in embarrassment and when I looked back I saw Prince Victor looking back at Mr with an interested smirk plastered on his face.
"Would you agree that she needs a day off from school and training?" The Prince asked me.
"Yes of course. Even the greatest guardians need to take a break," I replied.
"But wouldn't that be taking away precious training time?" The headmistress inquired. What was going on here?
"Not really, she already does so much training. We could always make this shopping trip as a miniature test for her?" I said nervously.
"Okay, that will be all. You may leave," the headmistress dismisses me. I stand to leave but before I could exit through the door, she speaks again, "And Belikov? Make sure miss Hathaway has something to occupy her during the trip."
I leave through the door with worry plastered on my face. I suddenly feel as though something bad will happen on this trip.
[A/N: I'm going to continue this part in the next chapter.]
