Chapter 30
DIMITRIA couple of weeks passed by. Rose was able to come back to training the minute she was released. I told her to take it easy but she wouldn't listen. Typical bigoted Rose. Many things had occurred over the few weeks. With Rose and Lissa having some misunderstandings, Rose was always sad during training. The playful smile she usually had on was now gone. She looked dull and didn't put in as much effort in training.
Tonight was the dance, I really didn't want to go but as a guardian I had no choice. I was told as the best guardian within the school I had to make an appearance. Why did they need an appearance from me? There were many other incredible guardians here. Nether Less, I complied with orders and went ahead with it. I sighed as I got off my bed and walked to the closet grabbing the guardian attire. I put it on and prepared to leave. I stopped myself when I heard a buzz coming from my cell phone. I took it out of the pocket of my dark brown almost black duster and saw a foreign number. That was strange, nether less I picked it up.
"Hello?" I answered with a guardian voice.
"Hello? Dimka?" My heart stopped. I knew exactly who it was, I just wasn't expecting them to be calling right now. I thought they weren't going to call until next month.
"Mother," I simply said. I could hear voices in the background, probably the rest of my family wanting to speak to me.
"Dimka, how's it going at the Academy? You haven't spoken to us in over 2 years," I heard Viktoria say in the background. Oh how much I was missing them all.
"Academy life is going good. Don't worry, I am taking care of myself," I replied. Knowing them all, they'll be very worried for absolutely no reason.
"Met anyone nice yet? You need to get married soon and give me great grand children, I won't be alive for much longer," my grandmama said. I heard my mum say something in the background in Russian that I didn't quite catch.
"Well there is someone," I began, "but nothing is going to happen." I thought of Rose as I said the words, and I meant them. Nothing really was going to happen, nothing could happen. It just couldn't. She was my student and I was her mentor, it was morally wrong. Not to mention the fact that I was her best friend's guardian.
"Who? Is she nice? Are you getting married soon?" Viktoria excitedly asked. I just rolled my eyes at her. She always managed to be so excited no matter the situation.
"No, not yet anyway," as soon as the words left my mouth there was no taking them back. Viktoria squealed over the phone in excitement. I took the phone away from my ears. Gosh that was a loud squeal. The words had surprised me also, did I really mean the words? Did I really have feelings for Rose and was willing to pursue them? A loud knock on the door interrupted my thoughts.
"I have to go, I'll call you when I have time," I said into the phone.
"Bye Dimka, take care of yourself," everyone said back before hanging up. It felt great catching up with them once again. It had been too long and I was glad to have had this opportunity tonight to converse with them.
I walked to the door opening it to reveal Guardian Alberta. She was dressed in her full attire, including her bright smile. I stepped out of my room locking it.
"Ready for tonight?" She asked. Was I ready? Was I ready to watch teenagers spike drinks, get drunk and me pretend to not notice because I didn't want to be ruining their night? Was I ready to witness teenagers make out on the dance floor and nearly bare each other of their clothes although there's a specific no sexual activities tendency? Mostly, was I ready to witness Rose with another man?
