Ryan wakes up and she lets out a yawn, like she does every morning. She pulls herself out of bed and wraps a robe around her clothed body and exits herb room. Alaric is passed out on the couch with his mouth wide open.

Ryan snorts and she heads to the kitchen, remembering she bought eggs at the store the other night. She opens the fridge and sighs in relief and she grabs the carton of eggs, and finds it full.

"Thank god," she mutters and she turns a stove eye on. "Eggs and pancakes." She grabs the pancake mix after saying this. "Oh, and bacon!" She gets the bacon strips form the fridge and she gets the waffle maker. "And waffles."

"You invited Myra?"

"Ahh!" Ryan shrieks as Alaric speaks. "My god, dad! You nearly have me a damn heart attack!"

Alaric chuckles. "I'm sorry."

Ryan starts the eggs as her heart rate calms. "Yes, I invited her. I want to tell her about Mystic Falls pvef her favorite breakfast, waffles and bacon with syrup."

"Or anything you cook," Alaric adds as he walks to the coffee pot. "Need caffeine. We had no booze at all yesterday and I feel like hell."

"I feel good," Ryan says.

"You're still seventeen, kid, of course you feel good," Alaric grumbles. "I had no luck in the hunt last night. I'm putting my notice in this morning."

"And I'm telling Myra, who just found out her mother's dying," Ryan says.

"Yeah... your job's harder," Alaric says and he drinks his coffee. "I'm off."

Alaric gets dressed and leaves.

"Scum ball. Scum bucket," Jenna grumbles at the tv.

"Who are you talking to?" Elena asks she comes in from the kitchen.

"Him," Jenna replies and she points to the tv.

"The news guy?" Elena inquires.

"Also known as Logan 'Scum' Fell," Jenna replies, and she turns to look at her niece, who is holding a small box. "Did your mom ever tell you why I moved away from Mystic Falls?"

"Oh, no way!" Elena gasps. "You and him? He's cute."

"He is not cute, there's nothing cute about him," Jenna says. "What are you doing with that?"

"I went yesterday and got it from the safe deposit box," Elena replies as Jenna walks over to her. "Mom had told Mrs. Lockwood she would loan it to the founder's council for their heritage display."

"Is that grandma Beth's wedding ring?" Jenna asks as she points at an old ring.

"Originally it was great-great grandma Mary's wedding ring," Elena corrects her aunt.

Jeremy reaches over Elena's shoulder and grabs a pocket watch. "How much do you think this stuff is worth? You know, like on eBay?"

"You're not going to find out," Elena says and she grabs it back, and puts the pocket watch right back into the box.

"This stuff is mom and dad's," Jeremy says. "You can't just give it away."
