Chapter 16: There Goes the Neighborhood

When Caroline goes to Matt's, goes straight to school after getting dressed - leaving Caroline's house. She doesn't call her dad because she will see him there and he knows she was at Caroline's last night. Care made sure that Ric knew.

Ryan is supposed to go see Damon later but she doesn't know yet. She has been debating on it every since she woke up and it sucks. He is all Ryan thinks about any,ore and she wishes it were different.

Ryan sees Stefan and Elena talking, and smiling. Caroline and Matt are talking at another part of the hallway. When Matt walks away from Caroline, she walks up to Ryan.

"Are you going to see Damon today?" Caroline asks as she hooks her arm with Ryan's.

"I don't know yet," Ryan states as they walk down the hall.

Ryan goes to the boarding house having a big mental debate and uses the key Damon gave her. When she gets there, there is a droplet of blood on the floor near the couch in the living room and no sign of Damon.

Ryan sighs and looks at the house. It's a mess. Ryan kicks her shoots off and she goes to one of the many supply closets that the Salvatore brothers don't seem to know Zach kept.

Ryan grabs some cleaning supplies and she gets to cleaning the entire house, she even washes both Stefan and Damon's dirtied clothes. Damon might not like her in the way she likes him, but at least he'll appreciate something she does for him and his little brother.

"Whoa, who cleaned the house?" Stefan asks as the two couples go to the boarding house.

"That'd be me!" Ryan replies. She comes downstairs in some leggings and one of Stefan's tank tops. "I stole some of your leggings and one of your shirts, Stef, while I was cleaning in there. I'll be out of your hair as soon as the clothes are done and all the bathrooms. Ooh, can I cook for you guys? A German dessert?"

"Knock yourself out," Stefan says.

Ryan shrieks and she runs upstairs, barefoot. Stefan shakes his head and Elena scowls.

"Your sister's great," Stefan says. "You really hate her for something she, also as a newborn baby, had no control over."

"Why is she cleaning your house?" Elena asks.

"To get Damon to notice," Caroline coos. "It's sweet; my bestie likes him."

"With what I saw at the grill, I wish her luck," Matt mumbles and he sees a nice miniature car collection. "Whoa; these are great!"

"This is, uh... Ryan!" He yells as he noticed they'd been dusted.

They all hear a thumb and an "IM OKAY" before Ryan comes down in her a team Edward T-shirt.

"Yes?" Ryan asks as she pushes a piece of hair behind her ear.

"You touched my collection."

"They were really dirty, Stefan, you could hardly see them," Ryan scoffs. "And Damn it, don't yell like that. I was sitting on a chair in Damon's room, cleaning the cobwebs from above the fireplace. You're very lucky I didn't hit my head on the edge when I fell, Stefan Salvatore."

"That was a loud thump," Caroline says. "Are you ok?"

"Bruised ego needs butt, but I'm fine," Ryan says. "Is that all?"

"Yeah," Stefan says. "Was just going today ay thanks."

Ryan nods and goes back upstairs.

"Okay," Stefan mutters.

"I did the entire mustang series when I was nine," Matt says, bringing the topic back around.

"You like cars?"

Ryan finishes cleaning and she goes downstairs. She finds Damon making out with Kelly Donovan, and her heart breaks. Ryan's lip pouts and she goes to the kitchen, she's glad she is so quiet when she walks and she's barefoot.

Ryan checks the pantry and fridge, luckily Stefan stocked the fridge with cultural foods. Ryan smiles, she remembers telling him once she likes cooking culturally, from different countries and such. She grabs the orange juice, lemon juice, and some heavy whipping cream from the fridge. She grabs some beautiful red apples, the sugar, and vanilla extract from the pantry. She makes Rauhreif, its a german apple dessert. It serves up to six people.

Ryan heads a crash and she grabs a stake from the counter she kept put - just in case, it's a house any vampire can enter - and she takes off running to the kitchen. She sees a female vampire trying to kill Stefan and she runs over, staking her in the heart.

The male looks at her as if he's going to pounce but he sees the woman's body and flees.

"I was almost done making my dessert, dammit," Ryan growls. "You guys good?"

"Yeah," Stefan replies. "I'm good."

"Me..."

Ryan walks away before Damon gets his sentence out and she goes back to the kitchen to finish her dessert.

Ryan is sitting on here couch sipping apple slices into the dessert as Stefan talks on the phone with Elena and Damon is dragging BethAnne's body to the fireplace.

"Could you help me out a little bit?" Damon asks Stefan.

Ryan puts the bowl and saucer down before she walks over. She helps Damon with the body and she dusts her hands off before returning to her food.

"Try some," Ryan says.

Damon and Stefan both grab an apple slide and dips them.

"That's a German dessert," Ryan says. "Good, Huh?"

"Yeah," Stefan compliments. "I'm trying to get Elena to come around."

"Don't worry about it," Ryan says. "She can hate me if she wants to. I love her. I've always wanted a sister."

"I'll be your brother," Stefan offers.

Ryan smirks. "Okay, brother. Hey, guys, if I cook a cultural breakfast for us in the morning, can I sleep over?"

"Sure," Stefan replies. "You have clothes here."

Ryan smirks. "I know."

She brings the used dishes to the kitchen and washes them before going to find a spare bedroom to sleep in.
