Chapter 12: Unpleasentville

"Stefan, who was thst man in the road?" Elena asks as she cuddles with her vampire boyfriend in her bed.

"I don't know," Stefan replies. "Do you really,ember anything else about him?"

"I wish," Elena replies. "I never really saw his face. He was wearing a hoodie. All I can tell,r,Jer was these black boots coming for me."

"I brought come vervain for, us — for you and Jenna," Stefan says as he grabs the box from the end of the bed, Elena sits up. "And, um, I made this bravely for Jeremy, a few extra ones for your friends." She hands them over and the vervain. "You can out it in jewelry, or you can even put it in food or cream, but as it's in you or on you, a vampire can not compel you,"

"What about Ryan?" Elena asks as she takes a vial of liquid vervain.

"If she vampires vampires, I'm sure she's on vervain already," Stefan replies. "Did Jenna go to talk to her?"

"She should be..."

"Elena, I need the money!" Jeremy yells.

"She should be here anytime." Elena gets up and goes downstairs.

"Oh god, oh god, oh god," Ryan mutters as Jenna drives her to the house. "Oh god, oh god, oh god."

"Ryan relax," Jenna laughs. "You'll be fine."

Jenna pulls up to the house and Ryan pales.

"Jenna..."

"Ryan!" Jeremy yells as he runs out. "Whoa...."

Ryan smiles. "We meet again, Jeremy."

Jeremy's face grows again and he grabs her arm. "We have pizza inside!"

He pulls a nervous Ryan right into the house and Elena looks at her, her eyes wide.

Elena's eyes lock on her and she smiles tightly. "Hi."

Ryan looks at her feet nervously and up at Elena through her eyelashes. "Hi."

"This is creepy," Jenna mumbles. "Elena, can she sleep here? I kinda stole her during the night."

Elena furrows her brows. "You're the adult here, aunt Jenna."

"I can fix up the guest room for you, Ryan," Jenna says. "You might want to call and wake your dad so he doesn't worry."

"Crap!" Ryan gasps. "I'm supposed to be grounded!"

Jeremy snickers. "And you leave. You, you're a Gilbert."

Ryan blushes and she grabs her phone, she goes to her dads number as Elena goes back upstairs and Jenna goes to the kitchen.

"Hello?" Alaric grumbles into the phone.

"Dad?"

"Ryan!" Alaric booms. "Where are you? Why are you calling me? are you in..."

"Dad!" Ryan yells, shutting him up. "I'm fine, dad. I'm at Jenna's."
