Chapter 3: Friday Night Bites

Ryan wakes up and she groans as she sits up, she stretches and then she freezes mid stretch when she sees the rug. She grins and runs out to find Alaric, ready for the school day.

"Thanks for covering the blood stain, dad," Ryan says.

Alaric flinches. "God, can you walk louder!?"

Ryan smirks. "Sorry, old man."

Alaric glares at her. "And you're welcome."

Alaric gives Ryan a kiss on the forehead and says, "do your school word. You're a day behind, kiddo."

Ryan sighs. "Okay."

Alaric grabs his keys as he walks out the door, making sure to close the door behind him.

"I'm not saying don't date the guy," Bonnie says as she and Elena get out of her car. "I'm just saying take it slow."

"You were the one that said to go for it," Elena reminds her best friend.

"Now I'm saying take it slow," Bonnie states as they stop in the school's yard.

"Why the about-face?" Elena asks.

"It's not an about-face," Bonnie defends. "You're single for the first time in your entire high school career. It's the perfect time to play the field.,

"Oh, because I'm so that girl," Elena scoffs. "Seriously, what are you not telling me?"

"It's stupid," Bonnie claims.

"Bonnie..."

"What?"

"Spit it out," Elena insists.

"I accidentally touched Stefan," Bonnie confesses. "And I got a really bad feeling."

"Is that it?" Elena asks in disbelief. "Bonnie."

"It was bad-bad!" Bonnie exclaims.

"Is this the whole witch mojo again?" Elena asks her.

"You know what?" Bonnie asks rhetorically. "I'm just concerned. This is me expressing concern about my best friend's new boyfriend."

"And I love you for it, I do," Elena replies. "But I feel good. It'd been a hard year, and I'm starting to feel like things are getting back to normal again. And you know what? Stefan is a big part of that."

Ryan groans as she works through a Trig problem, she knows she will be home alone for a while. Myra is at work and Alaric is, too. Ryan puts her pencil down and she walks over to the drink table. She fills the glass with ice and scotch before sitting on the couch.

Ryan turns the tv on and goes got he history channel. She sits back and she sips on her scotch while watching the show until she finishes off the drink, then she gets back to work o. trig after turning the tv off. Ric was right when he said she gets distracted. It's why she can't multitask.

"Good morning, Elena," Stefan greets as he approaches the girls. "Good morning, Bonnie."

"Hey um, I gotta find Caroline. She's not answering her phone," Bonnie says. "So, I'll see you guys later."
