Ryan groans when someone opens her curtains open. She opens her eyes and she narrows her eyes when she sees Myra standing the first with a cupcake in her hand, with a candle in the red and black frosting.

"So early!" Ryan complains. "So, so early."
"Get up, birthday girl," Myra demands. "And check your phone."
Ryan grabs her cell from her bedside table and removes it from charge, and checks her text messages.

"Aren't they sweet?" Ryan coos and awesome more messages from all of her friends. All but Bonnie and Damon.

Ryan goes downstairs and sees Damon naked. "Do I even ask?"
Damon gasps amd he looks at her. "You need a damn bell!"
"And you need a towel," Ryan says. "Elena's coming over, and I'm going out with Myra. And Andie used up my shampoo again."
Ryan kisses Damon's cheek and walks away, a little hurt. He hasn't wished her a happy birthday. Ryan puts on a smile anyway and she leaves the house with a pep in her step, even though it is an act. <<<!>>>
Ryan ends up going with Damon and dad to Tennessee to follow another lead. She had left the house knowing Alaric would call her with another lead, or deadened. She and Damon are keeping their heads on and thinking straight.
