"Are you done?"

I looked up from my paper when Edzel put a glass of water on the center table. He's standing tall while I'm sitting on our carpeted floor here in the sala.

"I can't find the answer. Damn it!", I frowned at him and leaned on the sofa at my back. He smiled at me before sitting on my left side.

"Let me see. I'll try to help you", I gave him my paper and he looked at it intently. Just some seconds past and he told me to listen to him.

That's my assignment for one of my Math subjects, and lo and behold, he's my classmate in that class!

Last sem, I was glad he wasn't my classmate despite of having a big chance since some of my Math subjects were same with his. But now, I think I'm more grateful that he is in the same class with me because if I thought that I'm good in Math? Dude, this guy right here is way more better than I was!

For almost a month of being classmates, I really have proven how good he is that I even think he's the best in our class. He always ace our recit and always get the highest scores in our quizzes and exams.  Favorite na nga 'to ng Prof namin eh.

"Do you get it?", he asked after teaching me the solution, he's also good in teaching.

"Yup! Thank you!", I smiled widely as I continued solving the last item.

I don't know what's wrong with our prof, but he always gives us different assignments. Maybe to avoid cheating? Well, at least I have someone who teaches me.

"Finish that. I'm done cooking", he stood again and walked back to the kitchen.

I fixed my things and put them  inside my bag as I finished that damn assignment! It's already late at hindi pa kami nagdi-dinner dahil inuna ko muna 'tong sagutan. Medyo terror din kasi si Sir.

"Hmmm.... I really love your adobo", I told him as I took a bite of the chicken adobo he cooked. It's so flavorful and the chicken felt so soft on my tongue.

He just smirked at that. I think I should minimize my compliments because that really boost his damn ego. Psh! Lolokohin na naman niya ako pag nagluto ako ng adobo at naalatan siya.

"Oh", I exclaimed when I remembered something, he looked up while chewing his food, "Can you cook for yourself tomorrow?", may schedule kasi kami ng pagluluto at ako ang naka-assign bukas.

Ewan ko ba dyan at pinagluluto pa ako eh reklamo naman nang reklamo na pag di raw maalat, matabang naman. Pero siya naman nakakaubos palagi ng niluluto ko. Parang ewan!

"Why? Uuwi kang Batangas?", he drank water from his glass before turning his full attention to me. Medyo nailang tuloy ako.

"Uh...", I cleared my throat, "No. May usapan lang kami ng mga kaibigan ko nung high school", I turned my eyes back on my food, though I could still feel him staring at me.
