Twisted Fate (TS1)

Kabanata 14

"Isn't it finished yet?", I heard Edzel's soft voice beside me.

I shook my head languidly without tearing my eyes from my laptop. I'm busy doing my requirements and he's here, sitting beside me on the carpeted floor, waiting for me to finish my requirements so we could eat our dinner.

I told him earlier to eat first because I know that I would take so much time since I have many things to finish but he just remained seated and opted to read his hand-outs instead. I think they have quiz tomorrow.

"Una ka na kasi. Hindi pa rin naman ako gutom"

But instead of following what I said, he angled his body facing mine and pointed his right elbow on the table then lay his temple on his knuckles. His full attention is on me now while he's staring at me with those soft hazel eyes.

"Go now Edzel", I mumbled as I continued typing my requirements but his damn silence and stares made my hands shake resulted to lots of typo errors. Ang dalas ko tuloy pindutin ang backspace!

Hindi talaga siya umuna at hinintay niya akong makatapos kahit feeling ko gutom na gutom na talaga siya. It's already 9pm on the clock.

I was still munching on my food while he's already finished when I heard him chuckled out of no where. I looked at him beside me and saw his mouth opened as his tongue pressed on his upper lip to prevent his amuse smile from showing.

"What?", I raised my brow.

He shook his head, hiding the amusement on his face, "Nothing. You just looked so enticing while eating. How are you doing that?"

Ugh! Of all the time he would choose to flirt with me, ngayon pa talagang kumakain ako!

"Edzel", I warned.

"What?", he looks innocent but we both know that he isn't.

"Stop flirting", I rolled my eyes and grab my last mouthful of rice and chicken. Sa tagal na niyang nanliligaw sa akin, nasanay na rin ako sa mga banat niya. I think, I'm more comfortable with him now. Mas nakilala ko na rin kasi siya.

"Why do you always think that I'm always flirting with you?", amusement was so evident on his voice, "I'm just admiring you Czairina Aleah. That's basically two different things"

I sighed as I chewed my food.

"You're really so good with words, you know?", I glared at him and was about to stand to clean the table but he held my hand to stop me in place.

He sat properly and faced me fully, one arm resting on the backrest of my chair while the other one is on the dining table in front of me.

"I really like you so much", his voice was so soft while his eyes were full of affection, "Kailan mo ba ako sasagutin?", he teased.

I just rolled my eyes at him but those little smiles were showing on my lips.

I always love his random I like you's. Minsan, tahimik lang kami then bigla na lang siyang bubulong niyan sakin. O kaya naman kapag tinititigan niya ako, or minsan pag naggo-grocery kami. Sobrang random!

Minsan naman magugulat na lang ako dahil may malalaking bouquet ng red roses sa kwarto ko o kaya sa hood ng kotse ko bago pumasok. He even admitted to me na para sa akin naman daw talaga yung bouquet of huge roses at box ng chocolate noong Valentines day last year pero natorpe siya kaya hindi niya masabi.
