Virgil and Roman are CHILDHOOD friends. Their parents knew one another and they lived across the street from each other

Romans parents Patton and Logan kept a scrapbook full of their son and Virgil's memories

One of the earliest memories Virgil and Roman can remember is when Roman saved Virgil from playground bullies picking on him

The two of them were by each other's side no matter what, they were inseparable

That is until High School. The two of them drifted apart because Roman got popular among students and he left Virgil behind, all alone to drown away in his sorrow

Virgil also developed a big crush on his best friend while in High School, like any normal teenager

One day, Virgil was in the bathroom minding his own business when Roman walked in

{Roman}
Virgil?! How are you? Sorry I wasn't available to come over to your house and hang out in the hallways

¥Virgil¥
Says the person who left me behind, all alone to fend for himself with no friends

{Roman}
Wait what?! I didn't leave you, we're still friends right?

¥Virgil¥
You got popular with other kids and decided you didn't have enough time to spend with me, and you're oblivious to the fact that I like you

Virgil immediately covers his mouth after he said that phrase

Roman was in shock, realizing what he had done to Virgil. He reached out to hug him but Virgil flipped his hood up and quickly ran out of the bathroom, sprinting to the guidance counselor's office.

At the end of the day, Roman packed up his things and went to Virgil's locker. He quickly wrote an apology note, folded it up, and shoved it through one of the holes of the locker. He walked home by himself

Virgil opened up his locker, and a piece of folded paper caught his eye. He unfolded it and read the apology from Roman. At the bottom it said to meet him at the picnic tables for lunch to talk

Virgil folded it back up and walked home by himself, with the note in his hoodie pocket

The next day, the two met once again at a picnic table. Roman immediately hugged Virgil. He said sorry a bunch of times to make up for lost time and for abandoning his CHILDHOOD friend, asking if he was free to hang out

Virgil hugged back, saying he would love to hang out. The two became friends again.

A couple weeks later, Roman asked Virgil out on a date. He remembered the bathroom incident and wanted to return the romantic feelings. Virgil accepted the offer
