Virgil and Roman are MERMAIDS

They come from different backgrounds and have different colored tails to show where they come from

Red are Royals, the best of the best
Orange are Exiled, far away from the others
Yellow are Law, they enforce justice & order
Green are Strong, they are the military
Light Blue are Compassionate, full of love
Dark Blue are Geniuses, smart at everything
Purple are Criminals, fugitives stealing goods
Black are Mist, disappeared from society
Rainbow are Rare, they are very precious

Roman is a Red, meaning he's Royal

Virgil was a former Black, but his tail changed to Purple over time

Virgil was out stealing from the market when he caught a glimpse of the Red Royal Palace

Namely Roman in particular, he was looking around the deep ocean blue when he saw Virgil by the palace gates

Roman was in love, even though his parents were arranging a alliance marriage from a neighboring kingdom which unfortunately means he would have to pretend to be straight unless he can manage to call the plan off

Roman put on a cloak and went to the Market, trying to find Virgil. He managed to spot him stealing from a pearl makers stand

Virgil left the hustle and bustle when Roman tapped him on the shoulder

Hi, why are you talking to me?

{Roman}
I'm a newcomer to the Market and need help to get around and know the ins and outs

Ok, it always closes at 5:30 which is now because the Greens get back from their duty's and make a giant mess of it all like knocking over baskets of valuable items and expensive food. We should go back to my place before we get caught up in the mess

{Roman}

Virgil, laugh all you want I don't like it that much to be honest

{Roman}
I'm Prince Roman, don't bow or anything but yes you know that I'm a Red now that I said my name. Please don't turn me in back to the palace, my parents have been saying non-stop that we need to find a strong alliance which means I have to get married to a snobby princess. They have 0 idea that I'm gay but I'm trying to call off any arrangements with other kingdoms, can I please stay with you for the time being?

Sure Princey but don't expect everything to be handed to you like back at the palace and don't expect me to do everything for you, hopefully you learned some basic life skills

It's a nickname, moron. Follow me, my house is a little messy but you can manage I guess

Virgil lead Roman over to his house, it was made of alive purple coral, there wasn't any doors but there was seaweed curtains in the doorways in place of it. There was 2 floors, but Virgil barely made enough money from his stealing sell today to help him move out and have a guest room so Roman will either sleep on the couch or with Virgil

Since I'm a purple, I'm a criminal. I steal from the market and sell some items but I give some of the items to my neighbors Patton and Logan, they are like my second parents so if you need any advice or help then ask them

Virgil points to a medium sized grey coral house down the road. A mailbox saying Patton and Logan was on the lawn, signaling Roman that Virgil's neighbors live there

The two made small talk and ate some fish that Virgil stole yesterday, it was delicious

It was now 10:30 and the two were both tired, they swam upstairs since there was no need for ladders or stairs in the ocean

I unfortunately don't have a guest room so you either have to sleep on the couch or with me

{Roman}
The couch isn't very comfortable to sleep on, I've had experience, so I'll sleep with you

Ok, I can give you some extra clothes for the night but tomorrow you will have to go back to the palace and act like a purple, you like theatre and stuff right?

{Roman}
I love Theatre!!

Then those acting skills will come in handy, all you have to do is put anything important of yours like clothes, toiletries, other items you like, etc and put them in a bag. At 6:00 is where everything dies down and is silent so it's a perfect time to leave and live with me

{Roman}
Alright, my servants give me alone time for the rest of the day at 4:15 so I'll leave your place at that time. If they find me then i'll say that I was very busy with alliance work and sword training if they ask where I've been, the servants and my parents are pretty oblivious and dumb so they won't argue with me about my whereabouts

Alright, sounds like a plan

~Skip to 4:15 the next day~

Roman bid Virgil a farewell and swam off to his now old palace room, while he was packing he felt warm and tingly for a certain someone, he remembered that he had a crush on Virgil since their meeting yesterday. He finished packing his stuff and headed back to Virgil's after 6:00

Roman saw a long piece of driftwood, metal hinges, a hammer, a doorknob, and nails while swimming. His bag was big enough to fit the smaller items but he held the driftwood

Virgil I'm back from the palace!

I found some driftwood, a hammer, a doorknob, nails, and hinges so that we can have a proper door for the front. I brought my paint set and we can make it pretty as like a fun project if we get bored

Ok, sounds good

The two of them were bored the next day and decided to paint the door so that the pattern will be seen from inside the house

Their hands brushed against each other as they painted, both smiling and turning a little red

Later when the door was drying, Roman decided to confess to Virgil

Hey Virgil, can I tell you something?

Yeah, what is it?

{Roman}
I like you not just as a friend, is that ok with you?

It's ok, you're starting to grow on me romantically

Virgil hugged Roman

{Roman}
Can I kiss you?

Yeah, go ahead

Roman kissed Virgil's forehead, temple, cheek, head, and lips. Virgil blushed like mad at this point, but he smiled

Do you want to be my boyfriend?

Roman finally convinced his parents to call off the alliance plans, he also came out and said that the Red lifestyle was not for him.

Roman lived out his days with his beloved Virgil in their house, they moved to a better one after Virgil scored a giant victory in the stealing sell

They went on to adopt 2 merkids from Patton's adoption center named Remy and Thomas

Roman and Virgil lived happily ever after
