Once upon a time, a man named Thomas Sanders inheiritted a painting. He was an art collector, the painting has been in his family for decades, dating back to the time of the French Revolution

The painting is finally in his posession, it was titled:
Lovers at the MASQUERADE

Little did he know, it held a terrible secret

To learn what it is, we must travel back in time to where the Grand Masked Ball of Kamel Ouali in Versailles was taking place

The clinking of champage glasses and the small chatter of people could be heard

Classical music provided by a large string band was playing as guests filled the ballroom

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI, the Crown King and Queen of France was hosting tonight

Roman Andre, a new lord, was dancing with a female. She was interested in him as did every lady at the ball tonight. He wasnt interested in her at all, instead he was looking for his secret fiance Virgil, the soon to be prince of a smaller country outside of Versailles

As soon as Roman caught a glimpse of Virgil's purple hair, he excused himself from the female, going over to his fiance

The Palace has a forgotten attic, My Darling. Royal Guard Janus can direct us to there

Virgil nods as he takes Roman's hand, the lovers got escorted to the large attic by Janus

They arrived, Virgil seeing his old friend Patton staring at a blank canvas uninspired. Roman locked the door, ensuring that no one else comes inside

Dad?! What are you doing here! You should be in your studio

(Patton)
My studio closed down, kiddo. My paintings undersold one day then my money burned out after I tried to get help. But I got a new job as an assistaint painter to Remy, he paints the potraits of the King and Queen

The Lovers listened to Patton's instructions, holding a pose where Roman and Virgil were waltzing. Patton noticed Virgil's key necklace, highlighting the important details.

It was rumored that Virgil was bethrothed to a noble lady, the key opening the door to her room, in reality it opened his garden door where he and Roman spent every night together

The painting was finally done, Patton was about to write his signature when a banging sound came from the door

The door opened, revealing Remus, Roman's brother. He lusted after Virgil, obssessing even

Remus stabbed Roman, his red and gold mask unraveling and falling onto the floor

Virgil rushed over to Roman, checking his pulse, there was nothing

With that, Remus left the attic, a demonic smile on his face

Virgil pulled out the sword from Roman and stabbed himself

Patton was the only one brave to hold a proper funeral and buryal for Roman and Virgil.

Patton gave the painting and Virgil's key necklace to Remy, saying to deliver the items to Logan Sanders, his american friend who collected art

Meanwhile, Remus escaped to England, trying to avoid Virgil's revenge. He found someone named Cronus, Remus eventually getting stabbed himself by the man in orange just as the curse predicted

Logan kept both the painting and key in his family's art gallery, it got handed down from generation to generation of Sanders, untill Thomas inheirritted both items
