Olivia

"Katie I don't know what to do" I said over the phone to my sister, she was convincing me to go to the gig in a few hours but I wasn't sure. What would I do or say when he comes off the stage? I know I won't be able to hold back a smile seeing them play live.

"Liv, you clearly really like the boy. You've never been like this before. I'm annoyed that he hurt my little sister, I'm really annoyed but it sounds like he was just a bit lost in his own head. He's never been on tour across the country before, he was probably overthinking it which is no excuse but I know your heart is telling you to go" she was right, sadly.

I just don't want to go and get my hopes up, for him to come off stage and be like 'omg Olivia you came, do you like us live? okay bye again' but it was too late to turn back now, I was already five minutes away from the venue. It was a last minute decision, 7:49 PM, I only left 5 minutes ago.

The security guards outside the side door were quite intimidating, they asked my name and then gave each other a nod when I said it. I followed one of them into the venue, it was literally one minute to eight so I wasn't going to catch them before they went on stage which I didn't mind.

"Olvia! Nice to see you mate!" Larry pulled me in for a brotherly hug as soon as he seen me, "They're just starting, Van will actually be so buzzing you're here you know Olivia"

Just as I has the chance to speak Vans voice let out a perfect 'I got misled, mistook, discard' and I just decided to not say anything. Me and Larry were stood behind the stage in the small venue so I could see clearly, Larry was holding a guitar for some reason but I didn't question it, I was too captivated by what was going on on the stage. The lights were hitting Van in all the right places, he was where he belonged; on the stage with a guitar in his hand.

Van

500 people. Not only was there 500 people coming to see us tonight, it was 500 Scots so the crowd was mental, even after the first song. Larry made his way discreetly on to the stage so I could do swap guitars but he leaned in closer to my ear.

"She's here Van" that's all he had time to say but he shot me a wink as he disappeared off into the wings which I could barely see for the lights. Was Olivia really here after all? Once the lights shifted and the second song began I looked over and rightly enough, there she was. Something must have brought her here, she wouldn't have just come for no reason.

The way I was playing seemed to become more lively which the boys noticed, I shuffled my way over to Benji gesturing my head over to the opposite side of the stage where she was stood and we obviously couldn't say anything because we were on the stage but he caught on and smiled at me reassuringly. Bondy realised cause he stood at the side closer to the side Larry was at and he just looked at me all smug.

Whatever brung her here didn't matter, she was getting to see us in our element and I just wanted her to see how much passion we had for what we were doing. Every now and then I'd look over into the wings where her and Larry were standing and I could see her trying to hide her smile, probably 'cause I always throw myself round the stage like a lunatic but it was nice to see her smiling. Larry made his way over to me with an acoustic guitar so I could do hourglass, I wrote it about my ex but all it did was remind me of Liv. The crowd went from being crazy to standing still singing hourglass louder than me, it was absolutely surreal.

"And I'm so inpatient when you're not mine
I just want to catch up on all the lost times
And I say I'm sorry if I sound sordid
'Cause all I really ever want is you"

I look over to the wings as I sing that verse because it applied to my situation so well, the hand that was covering her smile dropped she was no longer hiding it. Soon the song finished and I had swapped guitars, we decided to try the new song live. Olivia won't be able to recognise it from the first verse because we added it after I showed her but I kept everything she's heard so I know she'd recognise it. By the time bonds solo came i was throwing myself round the stage, it was really an excuse to see her from less far away but I was too engrossed in the music to even look up.

We ended the night with tyrants of course, we all seemed to go all out because it's the last song and it's definitely the right sog to finish on. But now it was over and I had to walk off stage to Liv, what was I going to say or do. I'm all sweaty and stuff so it's not like I'd give her a hug, it's not like she'd even want one anyway.

This is a shorter chapter, I apologise xx
