"Morning love, what's your plans today?" Mum asks, making her way straight to the kettle.

"Livs coming for a cuppa before she goes and meets one of her clients" She turns round and looks at me with a smile.

"So we'll finally get to meet the girl who our sons been in love with for the past few months" I never really spoke to my parents about being in love with Liv, I never really knew if I should or not.

"In love? How'd you figure that one out?" I ask

"Are you joking? You don't stop smiling when you talk about her and you've had a bit of a bounce to your walk since she come on the go. I bet she's stunning"

I sit bragging to my mum about how Olivias the most perfect girl in the world and she's just sat smiling at me, she looks proud that I've found someone like her. It sure has taken a while.

Time seems to be going by really slowly, it's only been a few hours since I've last seen her but it feels like it's been forever. Things are perfect for us and I'm away to head off to Europe for a month and a half. A whole month and a half I won't get to see Olivia, I love playing gigs in other countries cause it's just mad that people there even know who we are but I'm actually going to be lost without Liv.

Finally, I get a text from Liv saying she'll be five minutes. It's not like this is anything formal or anything, she's just coming for a cuppa but god, my mums gonna make sure this is the best cuppa of her life. The door bell rings and I open it to the beautiful girl I'm lucky enough to call my girlfriend.

"Hiya love, I'm Mary nice to meet you!" My mum opens her arms for a hug, she's also definitely just sprayed perfume on. "Van's told us so much about you, come through!" Mum makes her way in to the kitchen and just before I follow Liv places a hand on my shoulder.

"You didn't tell your mum about-"

"Course not" I interrupted before she could even finish, that's not something for me to tell. Liv seems relieved so I grab her hand and guide her through to the kitchen.

"Olivia you're gorgeous, Vans well lucky to have you" Says my mum placing down a cup of tea in front of Liv, I take out the biscuit tin and place it on the table while helping myself but my mum gives me a slap on the back of the hand for not offering anyone else first. Liv Just chuckles and says she's alright but my mums shaking her head at me which makes me laugh.

"What Van did to deserve a girl look you I'll never understand"

"He's so good to me, clearly been brought up well" Olivia said, my mum gives her a thank you smile and looks at me with pride. At this point I'm just sitting back observing, mum clearly loves Liv already and Liv doesn't seem to bothered about my mums 100 questions, they actually seem to be getting on really well.

"Vans told us about you and you seemed a lovely girl, then the boys were telling me how you're perfect for Van and Larry said you're a power couple. Van started talking about you every time we spoke, telling us how perfect you are and that's when I knew my baby has found the one." Mum gives me a quick smile and I can feel my cheeks going a little bit red, Liv probably thinks I'm a right freak now,

"Right mum that's enough before you embarrass me" They both chuckle and my mum finished the last of her tea before leaving the kitchen to give us some time to ourselves.

"Your mums really nice Van, she's lovely" She was is genuine in what she said and it makes me happy.

We sit for about half an hour, talking about all sorts of crap over a cuppa. My dad got back and he didn't even bat an eyelid that Liv was here, just introduced himself and sat and chatted with us for a while which was probably better than the whole getting to know you thing that my mum was doing. Dad disappeared back off outside with the dog leaving me and Liv alone again.

"I seen Scott when I was at the shops getting milk. Never seen him before but he said hi and congratulations on the album and stuff" I didn't even think anything of what I said until Liv was looking at me all confused.

"Scott? As in my ex?" She didn't sound the happiest but we all know that I never think about what I'm saying until the conversations over.

"Yeah he was nice enough, there wasn't any hard feelings between us clearly"

"Nice enough? Van you literally used to go off on how he's such a massive dick and you hope you never have to be in the same room as him" still, I was stupid enough to not realise she was frustrated with me despite it being shown in her voice and facial expression.

"Yeah I know but-"

"I've got to go, I don't want to be late" Liv stood up and placed her empty cup in the sink next to where my mum put hers earlier, this is when I realised I messed up.

Liv peeped her head round the living room door to say goodbye to my mum and dad, then she headed for the door. I was following her thinking of what to say but I didn't know what. "Are you pissed off at me?" I already know the answer to that, can't believe that's the best I could come up with.

"No I'm fine, see you later" fuck sake Van, nice one.

By the time I started to think how I was definitely in the wrong she was out the door. 'He was nice enough' what the fuck? Nice enough? He emotionally abused Liv and left her absolutely broken, to the point she developed a fucking eating disorder and I'm sat across from her saying 'he was nice enough, no hard feelings between us'. I can't believe it, she probably hates me now.

The pack of cigarettes in my room were almost empty, there was only two left but I soon went through both of them. The last 2 hours were spent thinking about how I'm actually thick as fuck and I'll literally be going back to touring then I'm off to mainland Europe, yet I'm sat making silly comments that will definitely hurt her feelings. What a fucking prick.
