Van
Tonight's gig was amazing, the crowd were buzzing and I'd say it's been one of our best performances yet. I can't wait till album two is out and the songs they'll all be singing will be about Liv and not my ex. We'd normally go out after a gig or something but we were heading to London straight after we packed up so it was just going to be a night of sleeping on the bus. Liv was actually back at work today after two weeks off but I think she's one of the very few people who love their job.
We were all absolutely knackered after tonight, Bob was drifting off and the other were sat quietly on their phones. It's these moments when we're off stage on our way to the next city where you realise how lucky you are and it's these times you think about absolutely everything. I'm really missing Liv, I feel guilty because things only just got good for us and I'm on the road again and although she says she doesn't want anybody looking after her, I just want to be 100% sure she's doing okay. However I trust that she's doing fine and getting my daily picture of her supper is good enough, if it makes her feel like I'm not constantly breathing down her neck then I'm happy. I just miss her, maybe I'll FaceTime her but it's midnight and she might be asleep. Worth a try.
"Hey stranger" She whispered, from what I could see there was a young girl asleep on her chest, I presumed this was her niece from all the pictures I've seen.
"Babysitting?" I ask, it proper melts my heart seeing her with her niece because hopefully one day we'll be doing that together with our own kids.
"Yeah my sisters out on a date so Emily's come for a sleepover" Liv spoke quietly so she didn't waken Emily. I always wondered about Emily's dad, all the pictures I've ever seen it's just Olivias sister and Emily. Just as I was about to speak Emily's eyes opened and Liv propped her phone against the cushion beside her.
"Mummy will be back tomorrow darling, do you want to go upstairs Em?" I couldn't help but smile at her, I get that it's her niece and of course she'd be good with her but I still love how good she is with kids.
"Who's that?" Emily asked pointing in the direction of Olivias phone.
"That's auntie Livs boyfriend. His names Van, wave hello to him, he can see you" Emily have me a wave as she rested her head on Livs chest again.
"Sorry Van but I'm going to put her into bed, I'll speak to you soon though" She stood up with Emily resting on her hip. It was only when she stood up that I realised the difference between when I first met Liv to now, she had gained weight to the point she finally looked healthy and happier, I don't think she'd have been able to carry a three year old like that a few months ago.
"No worries, see you love"
It was obviously me that had to hang up but I didn't want to, although she did disappear and I heard her stairs creaking so I eventually just did it. The smile still hadn't left my face, I couldn't help it. I was so proud seeing how much healthier she looked in such a short space of time and seeing her with her niece made me feel so happy.
"Check you, proper smitten" Larry sat down next to me and his arm made its way round my shoulder. "I reckon you'll 'av the first catfish baby" He wasn't even joking.
"Fucking 'ell Larry chill"
"Don't act like you've not pictured them and planned their names Van, I seen how you were smiling at her with her niece"
"Maybe after album three"
"Propose after album two, first child after album three, married by album four, second child by album five"
"Christ you've got it all planned out for me" I joked, obviously I wasn't following Larrys plan but maybe by the time album three is out I'd be ready to move to the next stage, whether that's me proposing or us having a baby. I'll probably 26/27by then so it's not too young or too old and it will have been a few years of me and Liv.
