Chapter 25

It's been a week since we last talked. Grant is being more easy to deal with this past few days. Hindi sya gaanong nagsasalita. Pag kinakausap lang ay saka ito sumasagot. Kumakain ito on time at iniinom yung gamot nito.

Tahimik lang din ito pag nililinis at pinapalitan ko ng benda yung sugat nya. She can already take a bath on her own. So most of the time, she's just staying on her room. She's always busy infront of her laptop and taking calls. Nag-oorder yata sya sa mga tao nya ng gagawin.

Pag kumakain naman kami ay tahimik lang din ito. Hindi nya na din ako iniiwasan. Ngumingiti pa din naman sya pero hindi na gaya ng dati. But at least, hindi na kami nag-aaway.

"I can take you out for a walk after breakfast." Sabi nito habang humihigop ng coffee.

We are both having our breakfast. Actually nagulat ako to see her in the dining pagkababa ko. She's preparing our food.

"Kaya mo na ba maglakad?"

Tumango ito at ngumiti. "Oo naman. It's nothing. I told you, hindi naman masakit."

"Okay."

"You can bring your swimwear. Akyat tayo dun sa may papunta sa loob ng gubat. Merong hot spring doon. You will surely love it there. I specifically eyed this island because this one is your fantasy place. Lahat dito for sure, magugustuhan mo."

Tahimik na ibinaba ko yung hawak kong kubyertos. Maging si Grant naman ay natigilan din. Nawala bigla yung enthusiasm nito.

"I don't mean to.." Ibinaba nito yung cups nito. "I'm sorry. I just want to tour you around. I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable."

"Sure. Sige."

"I'm serious, Jen." Huminga pa ito ng malalim at saka ngumiti. "I asked Alli to bought this island for me nung wala pa akong pera. I think of this as a place where we can have our family. But since we've already talked about us last week, let's just enjoy it. Nandito na naman na din tayo. I promise that I won't do something that will make you unease. No dark jokes. No sarcasm. And no dirty thoughts."

I could feel Grant's sincerity. I just hope na hindi na ulit ito mag-asal bata na naman. Pag ganoon kasi ito ay hindi na ito nag-iisip. Basta ginagawa lang nito yung gusto nito.

"Did Alliston told you that I want to live in a secluded place?"

"No. You told me di ba when you graduated highschool? I sneaked into your room."

Nagtatakang inalala ko iyon. "You were drunk then."

"But I was listening."

"No. You were sleeping."

"I was not. I just had my eyes close kasi you were so engrossed in telling me your future plans that I had to close my eyes to imagine what it would be like. That's why when I first saw this place, I know exactly that this is the one."

"Paano mo naman nasabi?"

Grant gave me one of her genuine smiles.

"I know. I just know. Because I fell in love in this island as strong as I fell in love with you at the exact moment you first glared at me when we were in gradeschool."

Maybe that's why I really fell in love with her before. She's good at surprises. She's always sweet and attentive. She really knows what to say to make people fall for her charm.

"So, as I was saying, dun tayo maglunch mamaya. I will bring us sandwiches and light meals."

"Kaya mo bang puntahan iyon? Baka naman mabinat ka. Tapos dumugo yung sugat mo."
