It's been a few days since I last talked to Sunwoo...and it wasn't because he was busy, I chose not to interact with him.
The next day, I texted Sewoon about it, hoping for some emotional support.
Me: Hey...
Sewoon: Hey..? You good?
Me: Not really.
I explained to him everything that had happened with Sunwoo on the previous day. Once I had finished telling him everything, it took him a couple of minutes to express his emotions.
Sewoon:...
Sewoon: I refuse to believe that!Me: It's the truth
Sewoon: He HAS to be lying! How could you be so wrong about something so obvious??
Me: I don't know, but it's clear that he doesn't have any feelings for me
Sewoon: Are you sure you want to give up just like that?
I took a second to think about it.
Me: Yeah
It's now Wednesday, the day of our early Christmas "party". I've been ignoring Sunwoo in hoping to get over him easier.
He tried texted me a few times but I never responded.
But Sewoon pointed out that I wouldn't be able to run away from him forever; I'll have to face him.
It'll be a lot better with Sewoon there- I don't think I would be able to handle myself without him.
Even if I do happen to say something ignorant in front of Sunwoo, I'll have two weeks to forget about it. My parents had talked to me about their family tradition that hasn't been fulfilled since I stayed in America: every child and grandchild of my grandparents would go to their house to celebrate Christmas and New Years. Since I spent my whole life in the US, they were never able to hold up the tradition. But finally, this year will be different and I'll be able to meet my other relatives.
Anyways, I only have a few hours to get ready before Jihoon and I have to head out. I don't try too hard since there's no need to impress anyone; I dressed how I normally would. We walked out and noticed that it was starting to snow.
This is my first time seeing snow since coming here.
I sure hope it sticks to the ground.
I admire the snowfall as we make our way to meet the others.
We finally made our way to the restaurant to meet up with the others. I was a bit nervous but I reminded myself that there was nothing to be worried about. We entered and sat with the others.
"We thought you guys ditched us!"
"Oh, I wish we did, Danny. I wish we did." Said Jihoon sarcastically.
I sat beside Sewoon and began talking to him while the other guys talked about video games.
I tired my best to not make any eye contact with Sunwoo, but I did take a few glances. He seemed normal, as if nothing had happened.
Good.
At last, the food and drinks came. Everyone excitedly ate, enjoying and savoring every bite.
"How do you like your food?" Sewoon asks me.
"It's really good, how about yo-"
"Hey, Sewoon," I glance over and see Sunwoo mainting eye contact with Sewoon with a stern look.
"Could you pass me those napkins?"
"Uh, yeah sure." Sewoon proceeds to pass him the napkins, Sunwoo grabs them then leaves them on the table and continues with his conversation with Chansuk.
Sewoon and I turn to look at each other, knowing each other's thoughts.
Weird...
We continued to eat the rest of our food, laughing, cracking jokes, and telling funny stories.
Shortly after, we all became too full to even move.
Chansuk deeply sighs.
"That was a good early Christmas meal."
Everyone slightly nodded in agreement.
Jihoon straightened himself and suggested that we should at least tidy up the mess we made.
"I vote Sewoon." We all turn to Sunwoo, curious to know his reasoning.
"Since this is his first time hanging out with us, it only seems right."
"I agree." Says Chansuk
"Me too." Jihoon even agreed.
I turn to look at Sewoon.
"I can help if you'd like."
"It's not much, it'll be quick."
I gave him a concerning look, asking if he sure.
Sewoon waved his hand, gesturing that it was alright.
What is going on with Sunwoo??
