The weather only gets colder as the month of November passes by. I could also tell winter was getting closer by the amount of stress rising with the upcoming final exams. Thankfully, the week wasn't so bad now that I had something to look forward to on the weekend.
I didn't see Sunwoo at work anymore after the breakup between him and Eunbi. I was relieved I didn't have to deal with that but I still wondered about him. Jihoon did mention he invited Sunwoo along for the camping trip but he wasn't sure if he would go due to his less flexible schedule.
Sewoon and I are finally talking again. We're not completely like we used to be but I can tell he's becoming more comfortable with Jonghoon and I. So far, life is great.
On a cold Saturday morning, Areum, Sewoon, Jonghoon and I begin packing our stuff into Sewoon's car to make our way to the cabin. Once we were able to fit everything in the back, we loaded ourselves onto the car- Areum sat in the passenger seat next to Sewoon so Jonghoon and I sat in the back. The car ride would take around an hour since the cabin was deep in the mountains. I noticed Jonghoon grew tired as his eyes would droop; he eventually laid his head on my shoulder. My mind wandered off thinking how this weekend is going to turn out.
I knew we had finally arrived when we were surrounded by tall trees and dirt roads. Turning the corner, the cabin we were staying at appeared. It had the style of a simple countryside house- a fire pit sat a few feet from the house surrounded by thick logs I'm guess were the seats, a large wooden lowtable on the opposite side, and a decent sized field behind the house.
There's already a car parked on the side of the dirt road- Jihoon told us he'd be here early.Sewoon, Areum, Jonghoon, and I got out of the car and made our way to check the inside of the house. After taking off our shoes in the first entrance, we slide the door open to reveal the living room. Jihoon greeted us from the kitchen, which was only to the left. We all gaped and awed at the design of the cabin.
"This place is great! How did you find it?" Sewoon asked with enthusiasm.
Jihoon seemed amused at out reactions, like he was proud of himself for planning all of this.
"You guys can check out the rooms and choose yourselves," he told us.
Areum and Sewoon immediately chose the furthest room from the rest.We had all talked about room assignments a few days before today: there were only four rooms, three with one queen bed and one with two twin beds. We already knew Areum and Sewoon would be in a room together and the twins volunteered to share a bed. That leaves Jihoon, K, Sunwoo- if he's coming- Jonghoon, and I.
Jonghoon and I haven't decided if we wanted to share a bed. We've only been dating for a month and we both understand we're not...physical. I think we both silently agreed that it'd be best if we stayed in separate rooms. To make things easier, I took the role of talking to Jihoon about it. I gave Jonghoon a look, signifying I was going to tell him.
I made my way to the kitchen, watching Jihoon chop up vegetables. As I was about to open my mouth, I hear a car pull in on the gravel.
"That's probably K and the twins." Jihoon says as he slides the veggies into a bowl.
I knew they'd barge in here any second so I give up on my attempt for now.Not long after I assume they examined the property, Danny and K came barging in the with Chansuk following behind them.
"We're here!" K announces to get everyone's attention.
Areum and Sewoon came out from their room. They made their way to greet K and the twins excitedly. Jonghoon was sitting patiently on the couch watching these people who are still only strangers to him."The scenery was beautiful on the way here." K commented to Jihoon. He kept feeding into the praise they all gave him.
"It's been years since I saw you, Sewoon! Did you get shorter?" Danny teased. It was great to see everyone in one room again after so long. It almost feels as if nothing has changed.
