It was already four o’clock in the afternoon when Selah woke up. It's been a week after he agreed to Lilo about the marriage contract. Her stomach was growling since she didn’t eat anything for breakfast and lunch. She wiped the curtain and there she realized that it was still raining heavily outside. She spent few minutes in the bathroom and later on decided to visit the kitchen and find something to eat. She was about to approach the door knob of her room, her grandma came knocking. She gently opened it.
“You have a guest downstairs.” The old woman simply informed her then went straight to the other room.
“Who would have time to visit at this hour? It’s raining heavily outside.” She mumbled to herself.
She walked downstairs but in the middle of the staircase, Lilo appeared standing in the living room half soaked in the rain.
“What are you doing here? You are all wet.” she surprisingly said to him. Lilo just smiled at her.
Instead of going downstairs, she returned to her room to get a towel and some spare clothes of her dad. After that, she went to Lilo who was still standing at his post. Lilo was so surprised after Selah handed him the towel and a shirt. He took the towel and thanked her.
“I didn’t know you have this side as well.” He tried to talk casually to her.
Instead of answering back, she went to the counter and called someone over the phone. I think it was one of her staff at the resort. After few minutes, a lady in her blue shirt appeared at the doorsteps carrying beach shorts.
“Go and get one. It’s the only available item at the store. It’s quite comfortable than your wet pants.” She said while making her way to the kitchen.
“You can change upstairs. My room is open. There’s nothing special hidden there so you can enter freely.” She said while cooking something from the kitchen.
When he was about to thank her, she was again interrupted by Selah.
“You can join me after you’re done there.” She finally said.
He went upstairs and found the room brightly open. He entered the bathroom and took a light shower then change his clothes. He hang his wet clothes in the bathroom.
“She has a good taste.” He said to himself while looking at the big mirror in the bathroom as he was wiping his hair with the towel.
He roamed his eyes around but couldn’t really see something special inside her room. It’s more like of a hotel room anyone can book in. But, when he was about to step outside, a small frame beside her table caught his attention.
“It must be her dad.” He just mumbled then went downstairs.
“Why are you here?” A straightforward question welcomed him while walking downstairs. Selah was already sitting on her chair waiting for him.
“Can I at least sit down?” He said casually.
“Sure. I’m afraid I might get scolded twice about table manners.” She said slightly teasing.
“You’re still holding grudges towards me.” Lilo said when he was completely taken his seat opposite to her.
“So, let me ask you again why are you here?” Selah asked him again.
“Don’t you remember? You told me last time to do something that would make you comfortable to marry me next month. So, I’m paying a visit. Unfortunately, I was caught by the rain on my way here.” he explained.
