The celebration was about to end when suddenly, Eli went towards them who’s bidding farewell to some of the guests and employees.

“Sorry dude, I didn’t know.” He said while referring to Selah.

“It’s okay. I don’t mind about it.” He calmly replied while tapping his back.

“Finally, I met you in person. I’m Lilo’s best friend, Eli.” He said as he reached for Selah’s hand.

“Nice to meet you.” She simply replied.

“Let’s hang out some other time, my treat.” He said to Lilo.

“Alright dude. Thanks.” Lilo finally said.

Eli bid goodbye after talking to them. Lilo went to our table to get his jacket and finally go home.

“Let’s go!” he said to her.

She followed her lead and quickly head towards the exit door. They continued strolling down the street through the cold night air.

“Here, take my coat. It’s quite cold.” He simply said as he reached for his coat using his right hand.

She put Lilo’s coat around her shoulders that gave her warmth that she needed.

“Thank you.” She simply replied.

Lilo’s eyes were focused on the road, it’s buildings and bright lights but he glanced at her from time to time. For him, she could look at Selah in various angles of her personality for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, time has its limitations.

“Selah.” He said.

“Yeah?” she replied. “Do you want to say something?” she asked.

“I am leaving tomorrow for my flight.” He said.

“So?” she continued.

His brows furrow at her replied, “Is that all you can say?” She nodded at him in response.

“I’m disappointed.” He tried to tease her.

“Why? What do you like to hear then?” she replied.

“Never mind.” He simply replied.

“Okay, what do you like to hear then?” she asked again.

“Let’s go somewhere?” he replied.

“Somewhere?” she replied.

“Yeah! Let’s have a light dinner.” He finally said.

As they entered the place, warm chattered and sound of soft music blaring instantly welcomed them. Selah and Lilo sat at the table near the window facing the stage across the room.

“I like this place.” He said.

She smiled and her eyes on the band singing at the stage, twinkling as the light hits.

“I go here pretty often with my friends.” He said. “It’s one of my favorites.” He continued.

The night got darker and the music got louder. Selah dropped her purse as she continued her glass of wine.

“Dance with me. Just this once, please?” he demanded.

She just laughed at him. “I don’t dance.” She replied.

“Please…just this once.” He insisted.

She just rolled her eyes then walked to the dance floor with him. Turning at him, his eyes lingered on her as they danced. The music slowed down and gently Selah became comfortable to him. That moment, they felt like only them that matters in the world.

“I am so happy tonight.” He said.

“I’m just fine.” She replied.

“You’re always like that.” He said.

“I think that wouldn’t change. I’m not sure either.” She said.

By the time the music ended, Lilo paid the bill at the counter while Selah was waiting for him. She grabbed her purse and reached out for his jacket and continued walking to the parking lot.

He looked at her one last time before he entered his car. He doesn’t understand what he felt that moment. He’s not even sure what their status is. Only one thing he’s sure about, she’s finally getting comfortable to him.
