It was already passed twelve in the evening; still Lilo wasn’t back to their hotel room from his flight. Selah stood still in the balcony area overlooking to the parking space of the hotel. She poured a glass of red wine while waiting for him. After drinking few glasses of wine, she felt uneasy and hot. So, she decided to enter the bathroom and took a midnight bath in the couple tub perfectly designed for the room.

She waited for the water to rise in the tub before she decided to soak herself into it. Most of the time, when she felt a heavy pressure above her chest from all her problems, her best escape is immerging herself in a pool of water. There, she could enjoy the serenity of life while under it. There, she could only hear one thing- her heartbeat. There, she could think herself for a while then back to the reality. There, she has the sole power whenever she wanted to rejoin the sea of people.

It took for a while before Selah felt someone grabbed her hands off the water.
“What do you think are you doing?” Lilo shouted at her as he pulled her out from the tub.

Selah was surprised of his expression the moment she opened her eyes. Is he worried?, she thought to herself.

“Do you think this could be a better escape for you?” he asked angrily.

Still she stood silently looking at him while bursting himself in anger. Lilo left her inside the bathroom angrily and storming out. Selah continued her bath then walked outside after changing her clothes for sleep. Lilo just stared at her as she walked inside the room.

“What are you playing at? Do you think that you can simply change the fact that you lied to me…that you fooled me?” he angrily asked.

“I told you before to think deeply for this marriage. I even asked you if you won’t regret marrying me.” She replied.

“But that doesn’t erase the fact that you hide about your divorce most especially your past.” He said glaring his eyes to her.

“Come on, Lilo! Do I really have to explain it further for you? Do you really think it’s a great story to tell to someone I first met? All this time, I thought you’re someone who would understand the most. I was wrong. I didn’t know you’re this insensitive.” She finally said and walked towards their bedroom and covered herself with the sheets while Lilo was left standing in the mini living room.

It was moment when Selah heard him talking to someone over the phone. She peeped her eyes in a sheet of blanket and decided not to talk to him again that night. Instead, she closed her eyes and pretend to sleep.

“Lilo, I know how badly it hurt your ego. But, now is not the time to blame her or even your dad who did the arrangement with Selah’s father before. The airline is at stake. If you prolonged this conflict we are currently facing, it would definitely turn the company upside down. Know what you really need to save first!” It was the words of her mom over the phone.

“Lilo, you have to look at the bigger picture. You might think that you’ve been fooled by her but you can’t simply filed an annulment to the court and cut your relationship from her. If there’s someone you badly needed in times like this, it would definitely be her unless you wanted the board to take the company from your hands.” After talking to his mom over the phone, a flashback of his conversation to Ellie flashed in his memory. It was Ellie, second person in the list  who called him after he told what he discovered about his wife.
