The couple were awaken by the heavy rain and thunder outside. Lilo jumped off from his bed and went to Selah’s room. There, he saw the lady quite scared while sitting on the corner of the room.
“Selah!” he called out to her.
Lilo was quick enough to run to the corner opposite her and wiped the long curtain to cover the glass window. The thunder is roaring which gives back a scathing lightning. The rain was falling heavily on their roof making them stared to the dark aura of the room.
“Can I stay here with you?” he asked waiting for her to turn down his offer. But, to his surprise, she nodded for approval. So, Lilo sat on the sofa while Selah was sitting on her bed.
“We can’t go back to the mansion if this will continue until the evening.” He shared.
“Do you have an early flight to catch up tomorrow?” she asked him trying to have a conversation.
“I do have.” He said.
Selah just stared at him. Lilo got curious of her expression.
“Why? Why are you looking at me with that kind of expression?” he curiously asked. It took for a moment before Selah could respond to him.
“I’m sorry.” She simply said while looking away from him.
“Sorry for what?” he continued.
“For everything I did to you. I should be the one being grateful meeting you because you save my father’s properties especially the resort. But, I wasn’t thankful enough to you or make you feel I’m grateful.” She shyly shared.
“It takes time Selah. Everything takes time”. He assured to her.
There were both silent for a moment when they continued the conversation.
“If there’s one thing I’ll ask to you, it would be being open to communicate with me whatever is your situation.” He said.
In response, Selah just nodded and look at him.
“Thank you.” She simply replied.
Lilo just nodded while taking a book out of the shelf for her.
“Here. This book is great. It’s my mom’s first collection of book. I’ve read it several times already.” He said while approaching her on the bed and reached out the book to her.
“I’ve heard you reading last time. Can you read this for me?” she asked innocently.
“Are you sure?” he asked. Selah nodded while giving him some space in her bed.
Lilo took the other side of the bed while Selah on the other. He read the book for her with so much eagerness and calmness. Selah just listen quietly while he’s reading each pages of the book.
When he was about to read the chapter ten of the book, he turned to her and there he saw Selah sleeping soundly and calmly. He folded the page and returned it to the shelf. He turned off the light of her room and return to his room. It was a calm evening for them despite of the stormy weather outside.
