“Can we have a dinner tonight?” he asked her while walking towards their room number.

“I’ll check first my schedule. I only have two days here so I need to work fast.” She replied while swiping her card on the knob.

He raised her brow. “I didn’t know you’re a workaholic.” He said.

“I’m not. I’m just trying to follow my schedule that was ruined a while ago.” She replied.

“What do you mean?” he asked.

“Fine! It wasn’t my plan to go directly to you. It was grandma who asked me to look for you the moment I touched down here at the airport.”

His expression suddenly saddened. The excitement he felt while driving his car back to the hotel disappeared.

“So, it was all because of grandma.” He simply said while unlocking his room.

Selah was surprised to what she heard from him. She didn’t mean to hurt him but it’s true that his grandma wanted her to check on him first before anything else. It wasn’t her intention to offend him or something.

Upon Selah entered her room, she just ate whatever is prepared on her table and went back to her laptop. She was so focused that she almost forgot the dinner offered by Lilo earlier. Deep inside, she felt guilty but at the same time, she didn’t want to ruin her reputation as an employee in Lilo’s own company. Thus, she continued working there and finished her work almost ten o’clock already.

She went to the bathroom and quickly took a shower then changed and grabbed her phone at the table near her personal laptop.

“He might still be awake.” She said to herself while tying her hair into a bun. She went to Lilo’s room number, just one room after her. She knocked three times until someone unlocked it from the inside.

“What are you doing here? I thought you’re busy.” He said emotionless.

“Come on! Don’t be so sensitive about what I’ve said. Let’s eat outside?” she asked convincingly.

Lilo just dropped his face and went inside to change. It doesn’t take much longer for him to change and walked out his door fresh-faced in his white shirt. She just smiled at him how he looked so clean on it.

“What?” he asked her.

“Why?” she replied.

“You’re staring at me this time. You can’t deny that.” He said confidently.

“I am. I’m just fascinated how you look so clean in that shirt.” She replied why leading their way outside.

“You always wear simpler clothes though you can afford to buy luxurious dresses. I can also buy it for you if you say so.” He said that made her head turned back at him.

“You better not. I prepared it this way. I sometimes wear branded clothes but it depends upon a situation or sometimes occasion.” She replied while continued walking towards the hotel entrance.

“Situations like what?” he asked again.

“Like special occasions.” She replied.

“Oh, so this isn’t special for you?” he continued talking to her.

“It depends on you. But, I must say, I’m comfortable wearing this when I’m with you.” She replied.

For a moment, Lilo was puzzled to what she said. He decided not to talk back. They headed towards the nearest and still open restaurant.
